Frontier broke the comms panel on Xbox.

I refuse to play in Open if I can't reliably communicate with other players.

Comms panel needs to git gud.

Needless to say, this thread is a vent. I want to play in Open, but just can't as I cannot talk to anyone.

If you complain to much FD will remove the comms panel entirely until a fix can be found, and implemente it at the next update (or possibly the one after). Beside FD are obviously very busy at the moment preventing players playing. You can't expect them just to drop everything and fix stuff.

Seriously, even before I started playing in VR, the comms panel was in such a poor location, I’d miss most communication attempts because I’d be concentrating on something else. Post VR? “oh, look, someone sent me a message 15 minutes ago. I’d better send them a ‘Sorry, I missed your message’. Oh, they’re offline already.”

The broken comms damn near breaks the game IMO. Too bad Fdev didn't show as much initiative for fixing stuff like this as they did for stupid sh*t like Volyboom. They couldn't fix that fast enough...well, if you count taking down all skimmer missions as "fixing."

Though FDev are not the only ones guilty of this.

Fast enough to fix something the community gets in their favour (moral argument aside), but ignores things that break the community.

Yeah, same. There is a third-party tool in Beta status that logs your chat so you can better see if you have a second monitor, but I'm having trouble making it work.
