So I had the exploration bug hit me again and since I never do anything halfway (first trip was to Sag A) I decided to upgrade an Asp to 43 ly jump range and head to the Formidine Rift. The view is impressive and bleak depending on which way you look. Pictures will follow as I continue my expedition throughout the week.

So far havent needed it but have 25 percent and 50 percent boost ready to go just in case. Figure with boost I can jump 50 to 60 ly if I need to.

I plan on getting back out. Possibly in the morning. Still wondering what the hell made that exhaust trail.
I'm 6k ly into the rift and making slow progress. It's a new challenge plotting routes out here.

A couple of days ago I found the remains of an SRV (I'm about 6kLY out) that was still smoking! It felt a bit creepy to be honest.
Unfortunately I didn't seem to get any photos - even more weird
I later found a ('the'?) ship with masses of cargo containers rolling around!
I made it across the rift a few hours ago. Currently heading towards a black hole that looks interesting.
