The rudeness of modern commanders

Sitting at Blaauw Hub, hoping to see a wanted commander to attack, and a rude man in an Imperial Clipper said something not very complementary about me after I said Hi to him.

The moral is - don't judge a book by the cover. I'm here to make life harder for the kids blowing up transport commanders, not the other way around.

Never happened in '84. Commanders had more manners back then ;-)

Back in my day commanders would be polite as they flew by in their cardboard boxes with rockets strapped to their butts.

Thread title brings back some "meme"ories.

Well, what do you expect from the Empire? They are all a bunch of uppity-ups.

I can be polite but if you come at me sideways first then expect it in return. The other night I was hunting bounties in the Beta S SL route and another viper rams my ship them has the audacity to demand to know what MY intentions are.

Told him they were going to be hostile if he rammed me again, to which I was told he was going to watch me as long as my hard points were deployed.

Ever hear of a KWS? (0_o)

I get the distinct impression that this is the first 'MMO' many of the old elite crowd have played ;)

No, I know how rude people are on-line. I found it amusing. The laugh was on him, as it always is for rude people.

I agree with you 100% sir. As soon as I get enough money from this place, i'm back to civilisation. Fed or Alliance space.

(awaiting incoming flak from the Emperors subjects)

Perhaps addressing a member of the Imperial aristocracy with "Hi" was a trifle over-familiar? Nevertheless, there is no excuse for the sort of bad manners more befitting of a Dropship pilot. Let me know who he is; I'll give him a stern talking-to back at the club.

Just because the young whippersnappers think it's cool to be unpleasant doesn't mean we have to tolerate it in Elite.

You have to tolerate it in life period. That's just how the world is. Judging by the forums here "older elite players" are just as bad as any 14 year old CoD player anyhow.

Your right Sir, a more format 'Good Afternoon Sir' would have been better on second thoughts. But no excuse for using such profane language that would make my mother faint.

I don't think he would ever have been admitted to any gentlemans club you and I would frequent!
