Decided I wanted to do a bit of exploration for a change, and set up a challenge for myself. I took a few screenies and wrote stuff up as I went.

The goal: visit every star in a constellation. Of course, the actual number of stars in any given constellation, including the ones too dim to be seen from Earth, is impractically huge. So, limit them to the ones main ones that make up the constellation. I chose Scorpius, because it's my birth sign. It turns out that there isn't such a thing as a canonical list of the stars that make up the pattern of a constellation, so I chose instead to select those in one particular picture, plus all the stars with a visible magnitude of 5 or better. Magnitude 6 matches up with naked eye viewing, but gives me 100 stars which turns the venture from a fun diversion into a chore. With 5, I have exactly 40 entries in my spreadsheet.
