Honestly there being a tory government in power is the strongest incentive to the scots to vote yes. It's a good reminder of the problems they have with Westminster that tend to disappear during Labour Governments and reappear with Tory governments.

The decision for such a monument change to the constitution should not be based on partisan politics, but my God! does Gideon make this difficult.

The fact that Scots like to walk around with their own type of money in their pockets should be a big enough clue to how they'd receive this threat. But freeing ourselves from the shackles of London's economy might benefit our monetary system.

Any Northerners that want independence from the South of England are more than welcome. We'll just move Hadrian's Wall down a bit.
