The search for an unknown probe...

I've been circling ammonia wolds for a week now, and no luck finding the fabled Degraded Emissions with Threat Level 2. Do they even exist??

I tried the twin ammonia worlds in HIP 15310. Also tried Pleiades Sector KC-U B3-1 and now I'm in Pleiades Sector OI-T C3-7 B 8. I figured maybe an inhabited system would produce more USSs, but the only degraded emissions USS that spawn for me are threat level 0.

I stayed mostly in Mobius, but tried solo and open for a while too.

Also, I've never been hyperdicted. Maybe my account is cursed? Any other places I should look for them? Tips to finding them? Distance from the planets? Ship Type?

These are Degraded Emissions 0 I dropped into anyway. Most where ignored.

Yeah, I know I need a Degraded USS with Threat level 2. But this past week I got all kinds of USS, but all Degraded Emissions ones where level 0.

I drop into them anyway because it seems to spawn another USS faster if I drop into every USS.

I have successfully picked up five(ish) UPs in Pleiades Sector RO-Q B5-0 planet 7.
Circle the planet between 12Mm and 15Mm and wait for Degraded USS with Threat Level 2.
Other USS's will appear, but you will eventually see the Level 2.
I needed one today and it took me 40mins in this system.

Well, I'll try some more tonight. But the amount of luck needed is disheartening. What did I do to enrage the RNGod?

FINALLY! Thanks for the system tip Omicron Psi! The session's second USS was the one.

It seems that all I needed to do was complain about it in the forums :D

This is encouraging. :) I haven't bothered to check out a Thargoid site in person because I didn't want to have to go through hours of searching for a door key. ;)

Maybe now I will give it a shot.

Thanks for the tip! I am sure lots of players have been put off by the fact that the doors require this key to even get inside one of the structures. (Something I think we could have done without, honestly)

I can confirm picking up 2 x UP's in less than 15 mins after supercruising almost at idle and circling planet 7 in range of 13-15 MM in Pleiades Sector RO-Q B5-0 [yesnod]

At first I was hunting with a friend in Pleiades Sector KC-U B3-1 for almost two hours with no luck. My friend gave up, but I said "I'm gonna check out this other source" and bingo!
