Boom. I've shaved like three times in the last nine years (on special occasions). Other than that, it's a #0 once every two or three days.

Chicks dig stubble anyway.

Another advantage of trimmers is when you hair starts receding you just go from beard straight over your head. Someone should tell Trump to get some, he'd look a lot less ludicrous.

Wow...Im a dying breed then considering I still use an old cutthroat razor and almost never cut meself...when I do, thats what a bit of pink bogroll is for. Then again, my face is weather beaten from decades of working outside in the elements...maybe thats a factor, maybe not...maybe I dont overthink it in the first place and just shave.

My m8 has a beard...calls the RAC to change a flat tire...go figure ^

I haven't shaved for 40+ years. Started with a cut-throat, tried a safety then electric. No good. Always cuts or a nasty rash. Now it's a regular No. 2 on the head and a similar trim with the trimmer.

Before, I shaved myself every day. Since a few years, I shave myself every 2 or 3 days. The price of razor blades is exorbitant. They are thieves

I rarely cut myself. I use boiling water

Totally agree, boiling water, shaving soap and a brush. Foam dosen't make bristles supple enough to be shaved

Foam clogs up multi blade razors and shortens their usable life.
A cheap single or double bladed razor with ordinary soap is almost self-cleaning, in the shower.

Shaving cream sucks. I prefer oil.

Shaving cream has been my revelation of the past few years, but even more so when used with a brush. A tiny amount then does a first go with the grain and at least a second run against the grain, all without leaving the cream residue that used to take a lot of washing off.

The cream is good

I wonder if the gel is also effective that the cream

I always used to use gel for a wet shave. Cream seems to last a lot longer than gel, but perhaps that's more because my wife doesn't use it on her legs...

I may have to do a test with gel and a brush to see if it is actually the brush that works for me, rather than the cream specifically. I don't think the gel would be quite thick enough to get the same result, but still better than foam. As I understand it, you get cuts when there are larger bubbles in the foam. Gel is better at avoiding the bubbles, but possibly the brush is more thorough still at applying whatever you're using.

I shave in the shower, after doing the rest of me. You don't need a mirror unless you happen to have forgotten where your face is, or have some intricate beardy thing to do.

Hopefully without tempting fate, I've not cut myself in 20 years now.
Are you suggesting, Mr. Yaffle, that you shave your entire body?

I can thoroughly recommend to all the Japanese sanpatsu - it's a haircut/shave combo. Your hair is washed before and after the cut, and your face is shaved. Your eyebrows are tidied up and those "how did that hair get SO long?" eyebrow-monsters are removed. Your ears and neck also get the same treatment, along with a head and neck massage. Then you get some kind of cleanser/moisturiser rubbed into your face, with hot towels and an IR lamp.

It feels amazing.

Grow a beard. No more shaving.

I grew one decades ago. I trim it once in a while, but it's fun to cruise around town looking like a homeless scrub in a Rolls.
