The ships of Thargoids

In ED, the ships are modernized versions of existing ships in the previous versions. It must be the same thing for the ships of the Thargoids (the same models) ? http://www.frontierastro.co.uk/Ships/ships.html

Not all the ships in ED are updated versions of the originals. I'm interested to see how things may change with the Thargoid designs. The crashed ship in Pleiades is of an interesting biomechanical design, if it turns out to be Thargoid that would be cool.

They kept the general eigth-sided rotation symmetry as a reference. Everything else migth change due to the reboot.

And personally, I can not express how glad I am! I hoped for such an organic visuality since day one and FD seems to have listened to my secret prayers. Thanks, FD, and I am looking forward to encounter the ships active and (a)live. And I am absolutely sure, they will be labeled as 'Thargoids' then.

The Thargomids are likely a vast, established interstellar civilisation made up of multiple factions. There's no reason to believe that we're encountering the same make and model (if such a thing even exists in their technology), as we did before.

They should (and by the looks of it, have) design alien ships with complete freedom, based on their technology and culture. It makes no sense in any regard to remain shackled to forms dictated by the 3d rendering limitations of 25+ years ago.
