CQC The should be some sort of punishment for leaving matches.

There should be some sort of punishment for leaving matches.

I've been playing quite a bit now and I've been noticing a disturbing trend. I'll hop on with in a game with someone who appears to be good, high level, good k/d and win ratios. Then they turn out to be a load of hot garbage. There seems to be a smallish number of players who just leave any game where they are losing or dying too often. IMO leaving a game early should have some sort of penalty, maybe losing a bit of EXP or having it record your score anyway. Perhaps something along the lines of a matches completed percentage. Matchmaking and teambalancing are bad enough as it is without people artificially boosting their scores through quitting matches.

There is that guy... With K/D = 12
Not very good at all and combat logs any time his shields get to 0...

Bottom line - all "CQC ratings" are totally discredited (hacking, exploiting, bad matchmaking, etc.)

And I can't edit my posts yet, the title should read "There should be...", I'm blind apparently.

I was not talking about you Have not seen you in CQC lately. There is another guy... There are actually a bunch of people with much higher K/D ratio.
Why would you think I was talking about you?

And yep I know what the problem was in that match - A flaky connection to one of the LEDs on my TrackIR clipPro thingy. Not sure what is your point.

I think you have me confused with someone else, my k/d is a measley 4.2ish, and I've never combat logged in my life(certainly not in any match that you were in). But thanks for the opinion I guess? Very constructive.

After reading your comment history I can see that you're not mistaken. In fact, you seem to have been subtly implying that I'm a cheater for quite some time now. Sure, you've only mentioned me by name once, but that comment about "K/D = 12" really brings it all together if you know what I mean. Now I won't abide having a CMDR of repute such as yourself calling me a cheater in public, so I went ahead and uploaded this video for your viewing pleasure.

https://youtu.be/b9kBDVUnGBA

Now, while you're watching this you may notice a couple of things, mainly that I never combat log. There are two primary reasons for this.
A)Combat loggers are the scum of Elite: Dangerous, and there is nothing more cowardly or pathetic.
B)I don't need to combat log. You're not good enough. Nobody is good enough.

I hope you watch the whole thing, I thought it was a good match. Hence why I shadowplayed it. Maybe if you pay close attention you can figure out why I stomped you and your team so hard. There's also other CQC videos on my channel, feel free to check them out if you're not convinced. Now, unless you happen to have any evidence to the contrary, I'd appreciate a retraction of your (currently baseless) accusations of me cheating.

BTW, my K/D ratio has never been higher than 4.47, which is where it was when I hit Prestige 2 a couple hours ago, so that's wrong too.

More Edits:

Also, did you happen to notice that you're accusing me of the exact thing that I was decrying in my OP? So I'm a hypocrite and a cheater huh?

I was afraid of that, sigh. I apparently misunderstood your reply. Disregard everything, I'm dumb.

NP.
Sorry, I was not clear.
I am just annoyed by FD inaction against all this mess. Should not be too difficult to deal with hackers and exploiters. And CQC is way more sensitive to that stuff compared to the main game.
We need 100 times more players in CQC for it to really fulfill its potential, but it does not look likely to happen due to combination of all these "little things" (bad matchmaker at the beginning that got worse, hacking, exploiting, ...)

I kind of agree with Kossack here that stats are fairly meaningless anyway, even without people padding them, so it's hard for me to care much about stat padders.

I don't think leaving early should have an XP penalty more than it already does (if you quit early, you get zero XP for your efforts in the match, which is already an incentive to stick around). Recording K/D stats when you leave would be OK as long as it could be done easily, but even then I don't think it's worth the time to try to stop the handful of stat padders that exist. CQC has much more pressing issues that could use attention.

I think Stats are meaningful. A level 1 players most likely a newbie. Unless the user Plays Iron Man mode. Which I would agree with Kossack.

Stats become important when there is the smell of $100.000 in range. Being a good sport about things is being flushed harder than a rhino can poop when there is money involved. Families are neglected and marriages will end. World war 4 may be coming.

I really doubt the tournament structure is going to favor stat padders or even naturally high-stat players.
