The Silence Of Scooping

For any journey where you're essentially doing a jump-scoop-jump-scoop routine, you're practically living in silence where music is concerned as for some bizarre reason, the fuel scoop mutes music until it's finished doing what it needs to do. I remember this not being the case a long while ago. Is this by design? If yes, why was it changed?

Rep Commander....surely Everyone must play their own tracks in the background....it just adds to the immersion!!
Mine is a mix (separate Windows Media Player folders with different playlists and mixes to suit my current mood or role in-game) ...
...a mix of Jarre, Blade Runner soundtrack, and best of all the music of composer Eric Matyas... THE music for Elite in my opinion...thanks Eric

music breaks immersion. i turn that off in all games. the only music i allow elite to play is the docking computer theme. and i don't use a docking computer.
