The single most annoying thing in ED

Yep. It should have no effect in SC but at the same time the UI shouldn't be disabled for it.

The bound keys/joystick don't actually do anything else during SC.

When leaving a station I should be able to put full pips to engine to pull away, then in SC move it all to shields when I come out/pulled out of SC.

Yes I *can* do it before I jump out, but I shouldn't have to - it's an artificial UX constraint.

I'd like to see saved presets for power modes. Considering the pips don't always go exactly where you want them to (half pips), it would be nice to have presets you could recall. It will only take a few key presses away from the game so I'm not sure if it would affect game play too much and if everyone can do it, I don't think it would affect balance.

most annoying thing about ED ? didn't change a bit, the fact that multi-purpose ships are way to OP, and specialized ships are almost useless compared to them.

^this, like totally!

Unfortunately ED is full of rules and artificial balancing, like having to face the target vessel in order to get basic sensor info.
Or completely closing hyperspace-routes just because I don't have a permit to a certain system, instead of letting the NPC enforce their permit-rules by patrolling with security forces, shooting everybody who does not have a permit (Why, FD devs, why? Why did you not do something like that and instead went for the most un-creative and cheapest solution again?) Sorry, but all these " rules" are such immersion killers.
Or how about the way "friendly fire" is working now? FD just came up with a set of static, un-logic and un-realistic immersion killing rules to balance "friendly fire" - I even opened a thread and a ticket with suggestions on how not to fail with this one at least, but I've got no response so far.

I fear FDs whole approach on balancing is completely wrong. And so far they always went for the cheapest solution instead of really creating something unique in a high quality. Even after release ED is just some eye-candy packet in some mini-games and 10 minutes fun with dog-fighting at nav-beacons. The rest is utter bullcrap and a waste of time.

In your opinion of course!

Look - it is just the way this game is played. Other games are played in other ways. That is what makes games different. And I personally say - vive la difference! And if you hate it so much why on earth are you here trolling around the forum? Clearly you aren't playing this game because for you it is "waste of time", right? So, why are you here? Just go and have fun at something you do enjoy - sheesh!

Lol, just L.O.L.
The typical response from people like you.

What people like you don't seem to get is the fact that I, as many others, try to improve things by criticizing and making suggestions. Unlike you, I want to contribute to the point where the game actually suits my wishes. So now the question: Why are you here? Clearly not to improve the game, regarding your former posts - sheesh!

where the game actually suits my wishes.

Yeah - that pretty much says it all!

And why am I here? Generally it is to offer help and suggestions to those who ask for it. And occasionally I will weigh in on a sensible discussion - such as Yokai's well-thought-out arguments, and a few others. Very occasionally I will respond to a troll but usually I don't bother.

The OP here was simply making a point about what annoyed him - there was no point in your taking it to such a new low.

To be a voice for those whose wishes are already suited by the game?

If the game is changed to suit your wishes then it may stop suiting other people's wishes. "I like this how it is" is just as valid an opinion as "I'd like this to be different" and if both voices are not heard then change might happen even if the latter opinion is merely that of a vocal minority.

dude, you accused me of trolling because I've pointed out some quiet obvious flaws. Now, that's a new low, isn't it?

Gosh I was going to say something else but this one here takes the price. I kept wondering why is the game backwards in that matter. Wish it gets tweaked eventually.

And this is exactly what discussions are there for - and unlike people like sqzbox1, who accuse people with different opinions for trolling, I really want to discuss the game mechanics.

But of course I understand that some people might get offended if I use words like "" to describe some of the more game mechanics, but hey, imo, in this case, this word perfectly describes the process of thought in the devs heads.
