The Six Corners Expedition

So I got back from my last expedition a little less than four weeks ago. I am ready to head out again less than a month later. I spent the last 3 weeks doing my engineer grind and building out my new exploration ship. I present the Shiney Loot Pinata.

I went for the best jump range I could swing, rather than redundancy. The idea of the six corners expedition is to hit the farthest points I can on the four sides of the galaxy using grade 3 jump boosts as well as the highest and lowest points I can hit at the galactic center. this ought to be interesting.

Good luck Commander! If you haven't looked these up already, the highest and lowest systems with a viable return journey are:
Dryee Free AA-A h4 (+3299)
Synaulooe AA-A h2 (-3341)

Your jump range looks pretty good so hopefully you can get to them (and back!). Try 4D thrusters using drive distributors if you want to shave off a few more tons.

There are systems further from the plane that can be reached, but alas they are one-way trips.

What's the minimum jump range to reach those? Would a 72.49 LY range Krait Phantom be able to get there? or need a conda built for max range?

I've so far been to North, East, and West. Currently heading to the South. Might do the highest/lowest some other time.

I've only done the 4 corners before. Kept forgetting the high and low and don't think I've hit either of them. So maybe something to do down the road. Thanks for posting those two planets...

I did the extreme east and west in a 78Ly Conda. I used 2 "level 2" injections on the far east route (one in, one out) and only used "level 1" injections on the far west route. Pretty sure you'll be fine :) I think I found a Green system near the east - let me dig it out.

Yeah, here you go - a green system I discovered really really close to the last few jumps to Erikson's.

https://www.edsm.net/en_GB/system/id/43055289/name/Pheia+Bra+LG-Y+d0

Also longest jumps you'll encounter on the routes to each limit (well, the ones I've been to so far):
  • Erikson's is 91.05Ly (there is a neutron jump in this of 259.58 Ly, so be prepared for that)
  • Magellan's is 111.20Ly
  • Semotus is 82.68Ly
OK, cos I had nothing else to do, here's some routes for the "last leg" of each extreme.

Magellan: https://www.edsm.net/en_GB/galactic...oute+to+Magellan's+Star+(Ood+Fleau+ZJ-I+d9-0)
Semotus: https://www.edsm.net/en_GB/galactic...name/Route+to+Semotus+Beacon+(Oevasy+SG-Y+d0)

I might have to change this to the 10 corners expedition. I am kinda thinking that rather than doing the thin whispy ends of the galactic arms I might just head SE, to NE, to NW, to SW and head directly off the galactic plane in those spots. I'm a fan of finding my own path out there. thanks for the green system :). I'm enough of a nerd that I spent yesterday gathering jump mats. I am up to 30 or 40 G3 jumps. Polonium can be pain in the *** to find.

Regardless of which way I end up going I will probably end up checking out the star links people are posting here just to say I did. Or at the very least make the attempt to visit them. :)

I have a feeling you need a jumpaconda for Dryee Free; not sure about Synaulooe.

Well I just managed to get back from Dryee Free AA-A h4 and that was a chore. My Anaconda has a jump range of 77.20 (max of 160.81)ly and I barely made it with the FSD boost. The issue was getting back as I could only get that 160 jump range by only having 1/4 tank of fuel. This meant after making that 159.47ly jump that is needed to bring the final 2 stars, I was left stranded as the system had no fuel star, only a Black Hole and a Neutron Star which was great if I hadn't been forced to only jump on 1/4 a tank. Fuel Rats came and helped me out and I made it out.

Mine was on an Anaconda, but I did have a Vehicle Bay and a Heat Sink Launcher and 3.60T Shield Generator. This way my experience anyways...
