-What Fed' rank is needed to get the permit?

-How do I rank with Feds'? (I've never bothered with the Fed'/Imp' rank system before)

-When I hit the required rank, is the permit automatically added, or do I have to pick up a mission like I did for Sirius?

To rank up you will need to do missions for Federation aligned Factions.

Yup at each stage you should get a Naval Promotion mission to do.

Head to Niu Hsing. Fly data delivery missions to one of the Col systems. rinse and repeat till your eyes glaze over.

To clarify, there is no extra mission beyond the normal naval promotion missions. When you reach Petty Officer, you'll receive the permit.

made cadett to post commander in a week
just around sol, just doin data missions for the feds

Getting to petty officer isn't too bad. Won't need too much visine.

I've done loads too, to get Qwent. "Finalizing Rank"?. More hoops than a Hula girl in a hoopla contest in a hula skirt I guess I have to do yet more missions and buy myself a grass skirt!?

I ran passengers and did donation missions out of Taribes.

Hel, one jump away had lots of data, scan and assassination missions as well

Give it some time. Your permit will come through. I just got to Chief Petty Officer and my permit for Vega took a while to come through.
