The sounds of the Void- BSO related radio chatter

So here's a thought. Ya know how we have those big radar dishes pointed out into space just kinda listening? Well what if you could mount a utility or module that would listen for background chatter allowing you to pick up on possibly subtle communications or just to listen to the noise of space. Because even though we can't hear it space is quite loud with background radiation, solar winds, and radio waves. Perhaps we could even listen for the thargoids?

There's plenty of exploration gameplay that could be had with a revamp of the scanners. The wave scanner on the buggies point to that, and the persistent, in-system mission POIs that should be coming up in 1.6/2.1 are another aspect. Imagine jumping into a system. Going cold to minimise the effects of your own ship and actually listening to different frequency bands on audio to pick up unfound worlds, distress calls, strange phenomena, passing bug-eyed aliens etc. I'm sure Frontier's excellent audio department could come up with some good effects. :)
