The Space Between The Stars. What have you found?

I tried Supercrusing between two systems half a light year apart.
Didn't work but at 2001C you pick up USSes a million light seconds out.
Must be some signal

Dang, that's lame. There are some star systems just 1-2 LY apart from each other, not much more than Proxima Centauri :) I was always under an impression that you can just get there.

I'm hoping that Frontier do find a solution to the problem. I can't believe they would leave it as it is since (as you say) there are systems that can be traveled within a matter of hours. In its current state it completely breaks down immersion and reveals the smokes and mirrors that hold the game together.

It's a pity you can't SC between systems.

I don't see why dropping out of SC couldn't load the instance like HS does?

You wouldn't have to have the star close by as when SCing in some big systems it can take a while to find the other stars.

ie you are not locked to the biggest mass in SC as you are in HS so graphically it could be quite subtly implemented.

It'd be great for those wishing to drop off the radar by sitting out in a chest freezer of an almost switched off ship.

Another thing would it take more or less fuel to SC Vs HS to another system it might be a handy mechanic for those who can't actually jump so that you have a way of getting somewhere albeit slowly ;) as once away from gravity of a system you should be able to drift without propulsion.

(Ooops guess who used to play silent hunter in real time!)

It doesn't work with star systems. If you SC to another system, once you get there, it's empty. You are still in the old system, just very far away from its center. People have tried it already and posted about it :)

This is a side-effect of the game using instances. If you don't jump to the other system, the instance is not getting loaded.

This is actually nearly as devastating as finding out you have a speed limit, though I understand the reasons and respect the decision.

I got up to 1900c flying 0.1 lightyears, this puts an average jump distance 1 to 2 days away, naturally this is just insane so I never actually put your observation to the test, maybe if I get a SC that can manage 10,000c (If that will ever be possible) I'll try again though.

I'm hoping we occasionally find a bit more than other NPC's and fleets though.

Yes fuel use seems to be a serious issue from my exploratory efforts
