The Steam Key I have in my account is not valid. What to do now?

I tried now, for the first time, to register the key on Steam.
I had no key before, just clicked the button to generate the key.
I bought the game in 2013 as a backer on Kickstarter, played it a bit then when it was released, but now would like to buy Odyssey in Steam.

Any idea of how to proceed?

If you were a Kickstarter backer, you should get it for free as part of your package.

If pledged high enough level back then or bought LEP afterwards.

Yes, I got a Steam key. Only it doesn't work. Steam says it's not a valid key.

Digital Download Pack. This includes a single digital download of the game, and any expansions, and all the other rewards above except those requiring physical delivery.

I don't know about using Steam.
