The stickied games to try in vr thread is locked. Can we have a new one.?

ED is the best game in vr imo but it is rude not to try a few other titles esp at that price.

If mods don't mind this thread being open I am happy to add my reccomend games to try and will update op with other people's suggestions in 1st post. People can also put in special offers in it if they want?

Elite Dangerous (of course)
PCARS2
Euro truck sim 2 / American truck sim
Lone echo
Dirt rally (multiplayer is store locked)
Hellblade
Edge of nowhere
Fallout 4 VR
From Other Suns
Any recent IL2 games (ww1/ww2 flight sims)
DCS World (has free content)
Superhot VR
Robo Recall
Beat Saber
Subnautica
SkyrimVR

(Home made VR mods worth a look)
Doom3 BFG VR

Croteam VR bundle 92% off
url]https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/5145/CROTEAM_VR_Bundle/[/url]

Current humble monthly is great $12 with pCAR2 which is fab in VR and some other great titles too

Dirt Rally is £4 on oculus store which is an insane price but be aware steam users are locked to steam for multiplayer and oculus users locked to oculus. For single player it's a no brainer if you like rally but if you want to play with your mates who have it on steam it may be worth getting on steam instead

Other "obvious" ones which seem to be missing from the OP:

Robo Recall - fast paced super-slick robot "wave shooter" - although that oversimplification does this brilliantly made game a huge disservice - almost anything you can think of to do in order to defeat a robot will work - for example grab a robot and use him as a shield, catch bullets and throw them back, pull off a robots arm and bash him over the head with it, steal a robots gun and shoot him and all his friends with it. Endless fun and one of those games I will always come back to.

Example gameplay video ..

Superhot VR - simple but effective early VR tactical fight game which has stood the test of time - as you slow down, time slows down - freeze, make a tactical assessment of your situation and then spring into action to defeat your foes.

Example gameplay video ..

Beat Saber - the ultimate VR "beat matching" game (although that's another oversimplification which belies just how brilliant this is) - THE best VR workout, THE best VR party game and probably one of the best games to show to someone who's never tried VR - just stick the headset on them and say "THIS is VR" - this game makes you feel like Qui-Gon Jinn when he's truly in the zone (warning: but don't video yourself, you actually look like a complete ).

Subnautica.
I played around 30 hours in VR only (in fact i am playing only in VR. I tried on 'flat screen', but it is not even comparable experience). In my humble opinion that game could be a VR system seller.

I’m holding off playing until the upcoming VR fixes (the inventory tablet is just a touch too close for comfort and messages are just off the bottom of the screen, and I hear a few of the vehicles have problems), but the little I’ve played has been mighty impressive.

My vote: Skyrim (with a few mods)

Interface yes - you need to do a squint to read, its uncomfortable and need a fix. Vehicles are fine and i do not noticed issues with text. I just got used to that tablet which is too close of eyes, but in fact overall gameplay experience is the best of what i got from different VR games.
I have a hope they will fix that tablet, but in modern times devs are lazy and dont care of bugs :(

Beat Saber is also a 'must have' on VR. Different game than elite or subnautica, but it is very pleasurable to play.

I’m pretty certain I read that there will be fixes coming for Subnautica VR, though it might be after the dev’s have got the stand-alone expansion out.

I agree about Beat Saber, I bought it last weekend as a party game and it was a massive hit, though my daughter wasn’t too happy when I got an “S” rank on my first Normal difficulty song (looks like playing with pretend Light Sabres since 1977 has finally paid off, haha!).

Also worth a look: Aircar demo (mainly to imagine what might be heading towards Elite one rainy day)

I just finished LA Noire VR, took my time, and I spent 9 hours in game.

Aside of Elite, the only game I tried so far that feels fully accomplished. Don't be discouraged by some negative opinions on Steam, if you like Rockstar games, you will absolutely have a fantastic time with this.
The arm swinging movement needs to get used to, then it feels natural.
It is very well optimized too, never had any issues and GPU load barely went above 50%, and only occasionally (1080ti). Sure, the graphics feels aged at times, but by VR standards it is excellent.

I'm doing Fallout 4 at the moment. It took me a while to get the VR set up the way I like it, but it was worth it to meet Nick Valentine in the plasti-flesh covered metal.
