The SVR drives much worse in Odyssey than in Horizons

I still don't what DA off is supposed to do tho apart from removing the selected speed indicator and now, making driving a bit more bearable :p
Drive Assist on is very much a cruise control. It selects a certain speed.

Let's say you set it to 20m/s and you go down a hill, the SRV will automatically apply less throttle and apply some braking to maintain 20m/s and avoid overspeed.

Drive Assist off will set your throttle to 50% if you set it there and accept whatever speed comes out as a result.

i think the driving is similar between EDH and EDO, but in EDO the look-around angle (whatever it's called) within which the driving controls work seems narrower. i play with mouse/keyboard, and with EDO it seems like i can't look more than 20 degrees away from center without losing driving control.

Yes. The reason the srv in odyssey drives a little worse is so that… When the new srv is introduced, it will appear to drive better in comparison. 😏

Flimley

Clipping the front with slight inclines in the terrain
Also colliding with and being unable to roll over artificial objects at the same elevation or only slightly above the bottom of the SRV wheels. Notably things like stone flooring at guardian sites, or the metal floor panels serving as roadways at settlements.

The SRV behavior is worse than Horizon. Even if you are on drive assist off, it is laggy. It looks like the control is waiting for something like the ping from the cloud. There is a delay for approx. 250 - 500ms befor the SRV reacts to the throttle. I'm driving on a HOTAS ~ 5.000km at Horizons and there is no delay, the throttle reaction is direct on my fingertip.
