The T H I C C DLC (DLC prediction)

I believe that the Africa pack won’t be an ordinary pack... I believe that it might be a T H I C C pack, let me explain:
A T H I C C pack is an animal pack, 12+ pieces of foliage, and a building theme in one big bundle.
Animal roster:
(A)-Has albino variant; (M)-Has melanistic variant
Southern white rhino
African penguin (A)
Fennec fox (A)
Meerkat (A)
Honey Badger (A) (M)
African leopard (M)
Kirk’s dik dik
Somalian wild donkey
Black mamba (A)
Plant roster:
Jackalberry tree
Walwitsia plant
Madagascar palm
Adenium plant
Whistling thorn
Napier grass
African ocatillo
Mpingo tree
Elephant bush
Kelp
African fan palm
Termite mounds
Building theme: Moorish theme

The longer the wait, the bigger the results
I think your logic is a bit flawed here. The last dlc was at the end of March, nearly 3 months, and it seems 95% likely the next dlc is coming at the end of this month. So it's not the longest we've gone without a new dlc, and just because it's a long wait, that doesn't mean more content. I mean, the Australia pack took like 6 months and was (I think) a bit less content than the SA pack.

Please do not try and get everyone's hopes up for more than the leaked 4 animals and 1 building theme, because when we don't get more than that, it's just going to cause unneeded drama.

Who said they can’t try something new?

Do you expect them to try something new when so far they've stuck to the same formula that they developed for PC? I would love it if they would shake it up but I don't see it happening.
^^

It doesn't fit Frontier's MO and there's 0 evidence they'll switch. I was floored they even pulled out an animals only pack (in a good way).

Unfortunately I have to agree with everyone else. We all want more but a pack like this would take longer then 3-4 months imo.

I'm also quite sure Frontier is deaf to our wishes for really big DLCs. No matter what we do.
Personally though, I think a continent pack wouldn't be the best to break the rule anyway.

Besides that, I bet they'll announce JWE 2 at E3 in a few days, will probably shift even more staff to this and PC 2 and Planet Zoo might get even less attention.

@Swjosdotschka I have to agree I think something is probably in the works and around the corner. Planco 2 I get but JWE 2 not so much. I know I’ve expressed my opinion on this before but honestly I think this is a waste of resources tbh. Prehistoric kingdom is going to have jwe’s number. The building system in PK is honestly the most complex to any existing zoo sim on the market. And yes PK will be finished someday especially with the income this game is going to generate.I like jwe but I’d much rather see resources continue to support planet zoo since the game still receives a lot of attention. And dlc never gets old the only request is for more. I get I’m somewhat bias to PZ obviously but instead of another jwe why not a planet dinosaur which would be another PK tbh in many ways. I think I’d much rather see something like a planet aquarium.

You're not taking into account that what determines the production is not Frontier. It is Universal. And if they want it made (which they do), it's going to happen. They want it to release with the next JW movie.

I suppose your right. Can’t seem to get excited about another jwe game or movie to tell you the truth. Seems like the ongoing fast and furious franchise that just seems to keep going and going. Jwe has some hits and misses imo. Overall I’m glad to have the game but not so sure I’d buy a sequel tbh.

I still stand by my statement PK is a game created by a more fan base oriented production group and this will be hard to top.

Yep, @Bearcat9948 is right. Universal is behind JWE and Universal means money. A lot of money. And don't underestimate the power of the franchise. A lot of people, me included, only care about dinosaurs when they feed the Jurassic Park fanheart. And while with PK it will be about creativity and paleo-accuracy, with JWE it will be about action, drama and slaughter. Two totally different approaches.

I do agree though, that it would be a waste to abondon PZ. But if you ask me, Frontier already leaves a lot of money on the table anyway. With a change of strategy, this game could be a long living cash cow. But at tze moment it feels like Frontier is only for short realationships. With their games and their employees.

Well let’s just hope frontier and universal takes a little different approach since the first games missions grew stale and repetitive. I don’t know I bought the original game and the hype was unbelievable at the time but money aside for universal I don’t think it’s going to matter I expect PK to outsell and take a lot of jwe fans with it. It’s too bad the pandemic more than likely slowed the production of PK or I don’t even think this is a conversation right now. To me the trailer of PK looks like the best of both worlds more then likely missions in a campaign type style with escaping and attacking guests. Plus building and accurate dinos for the more sandbox type player.

i think it will probably be an old-fashioned 4+1+200 pack this time around as well.

But I do find it strange how often the "don't get your hopes up" argument shows up whenever someone talks about the possibility of getting more animals (a concern that Frontier has actually acknowledged by virtue of their most recent animal pack) --- and how infrequently that argument seems to show up in other threads.

Maybe I'm just not as sensitive to it and therefore haven't noticed it. (Or maybe I'm missing out on an opportunity to go add it everywhere else!) But it seems like "don't get your hopes up" could apply equally well to nearly every topic in these forums -- from building pieces to splash screens, from communication to biome updates, from game mechanics and UI improvements to bug updates.

I mean, we have threads speculating that they might break with tradition and release a roadmap just because it's being done elsewhere with EDO. That would truly be something that we haven't seen before, and still haven't seen outside of a crisis scenario. So surely it's not unthinkable that they might continue their recent pattern of thickening up the animal roster in a way that they've already begun to do in our own game.

the difference in this case is that the OP wasn’t making a request - they we’re making a prediction. It is one thing to ask for something, knowing that it may be unlikely, it’s quite another to predict that something will happen.

Thanks! That's actually really helpful!

I can't speak for the OP, but will try to make sure my own future posts are in the form of a request or desire, and steer away from the word prediction. It honestly never occurred to me that there might be such a difference in how people would read those terms.
