The T10 and that Spoiler

Dearest FD,

If you add a piece to the T10 ship kit that effectively transforms the Spoiler into a giant intake, or just a lump . . . anything . . . I would buy it and fly a T10. This way the Civic fans aren't impeded upon, the sane are soothed, and you sell more kits. I can not be the only one in wanting a T10, but nauseated by that Spoiler . . .

I can deal with the pontoons and appreciate the less-than-ideal quirks of other ships like the off-center cockpits and impotent-nosed Courier. But that Spoiler is Blasphemy.

As if an intake makes more sense than a spoiler?

Can be written off for the inevitable atmospheric flight. I've never heard a complaint about the Krait MkII's intakes because it doesn't look trashy, like a giant spoiler on a spaceship does.

Besides, as I said, I don't really care what they add to disguise that foul blemish. Make it a big lump, whatever.

If that's the case it can certainly be a horizontal stabilizer.

The NASA/MIT D8 comes to mind.

Or perhaps the Antonov AN 225 is more like the T10.

Baby got back!

Besides, it's just beautiful:

Oh yes!

Those all have sufficient clearance from the body to be functional. The T10's spoiler could not add lift or stability, just weight.

Horizontal stabilizers act more like control surfaces.
Small gaps are fine if it changes the profile:

I say you're dreaming anyhow:

There's lots of room.
It's huge.

@OP - I know how you feel about the spoiler. To you it does nothing as it is usually an atmosphereric mechanics. However let me learn you up on something. The T-10's spoiler is not just there for looks. Mechanically and functionally it serves the same purpose as spoilers on vehicles on earth. The difference is that instead of winds, it uses fulcrum currents to add extra maneuverability and lift for the T-10.

It's legit bro. It just uses a different type of physics effects to work.

I prefer to think that there is some otherwise useful function to it (like a radar dish, even though there are several other sensor elements on the surface) but I have to admit, without this pronounced element, the T10 would look a bit off - even if I were not used to how it looks right now. It would probably be a different matter if it had the (always) upward wingtips like the T9.

Frontier needs to sell a sawzall. I'd buy it! There's tons of crap welded to and sticking out of a few different ships that I'd love to get rid of.

They already gave us the ultimate ship kit for the T-10, which includes [drumroll]:

A second soiler. Here ironically inside spoiler tags...
