The Terra Mater permit is a huge Pain to unlock.

I'm in Hecate running missions for the extremely cantankerous, 24% influence Brotherhood of Terra Mater, who just don't want to give up the missions, passengers, or rep to make this a smooth process.

They're also present but not important in three other nearby systems. I wish they had control of just one, so I could bounty hunt my way into their good graces.

Any advice, anecdotes, or abuse is welcome. Let's talk smack about Terra Mater!

...and I'm all out of gyro meat.

They've got a station in Hecate, right?
Exploration data is a quick way to get rep - especially since they buffed the payments.

They're in there, but don't control either station. They have to be in charge to rep up with astrodata, no?

You need to be allied for the permit, I'm not even cordial yet. Apparently at cordial, they open up and offer many more missions. ;)

Yeah, I tried a bit too, noticed the same situation.

Guessing: If the players put in a concerted effort, maybe even UA bombing a station, and boosting their influence, we could probably flip them to main faction of a station?

THEN, we could just dump exploration data and grab a fast permit.

I think someone might have deliberately kept them out of power anywhere. :p Would make sense, because that would lessen buyout of their special commodity.

never heard of this permit... anytihg good in there? tbo i never digged my permits that much... idk if they even matter lol

I am also working on the permit from time to time. It is good for a relaxed mission in between or two. If you try to grind this, it might break you spirit.
If you want to stay legal, bring a ship with passenger and cargo capacity. Stick to the Rep ++ or Rep +++ missions to feel some progress and only use the Rep +, if you have nothing better to do.

BTW, once you reach Cordial, the mission generator shows you a lot of friendly missions. It is okay for the generator to dangle a carrot (higher rank mission) in front of you, but 2 or 3? out of a total of 5-6?

why are you even trying?

BECAUSE MENTOK WILLS IT SO!

Pure evil. I assumed that would be the case. It is everywhere else.

And yeh, I've been hitting nothing but missions for about five hours, and I'm almost cordial. Insane.

Tomorrow I'll go back to merits for Utopia. This started mostly as a diversion since I finished early today.

Now it's a quest.

You might be all sorted by the time I get home from work and get around to loading up the game after dinner (about 8-9ish hours from now) :)

Out of curiosity, what is in this permit-locked system that makes it worth the effort?

Terra Mater Blood Bores, a rare good. Next door in Hecate are Live Hecate Sea Worms. I wanna be a Utopian worm farmer.

Honestly, I decided to start picking away at it because it was there, and I'm working my 4 weeks of Utopian service to pick up a couple of Enforcer Cannons. I might stay longer, haven't decided yet. I like the organization of Antal supporters. They're really about thoroughly working the BGS.

Anyway, I've been using Hecate and NLTT 6655 as a powerplay base of operations while I...er, do some stuff... and I filled my quota for the week and decided to knock out a permit.

Which turns out, is totally difficult to knock out. Unexpected.
