The terrain tools need fixing!

I'm loving the game a lot, but the terrain tools in the game can be a little frustrating. Water sometimes doesn't place down easily, and putting down buildings is sometimes difficult. Things clearly show that there is enough space to build on, but your told there are terrain constraints. This sometimes can happen even even when I try flatting it out. It makes placing down buildings more work than it should be. Also, if you have a already built object in the way like a feeder it doesn't raise WITH the ground when using the tool, and Instead creates a ugly mound under it which shouldn't happen. Another issue is that you can't move already built objects ? As far as I know once a building or object is placed down it can't be moved. When ever I want to move something I always have to sell it first before rebuilding it into the area that I want. You also can't build over water. In other Tycoon games when you place a building over water it will auto create land for a building to stand on. That allows building things to be fast and more efficient. Other than those issues the game is pretty awesome!

I came on here to complain about terrain actually. Placing a building is an exercise in frustration at times. Especially on the first island, when space is at a premium. There really should be a better way to just put down a building if there’s enough space, instead of spending 5-15 minutes trying to flatten the area out perfectly.

One of my biggest complaints for the game so far.

I haven't had an issue with the terrain tools. Though I haven't used them much just to get rid of some water and to make the hills I needed to unlock the 1993 JP Jeep. They do what I expect them to do.

1: Make a lot of money.
2: Close the park and sell off/demolish everything.
3: Remove all the trees and water and level the ground.

Disclaimer: Might not be practical. ;)

Okay I've played 31 hours of the game since launch, have completed the first four islands in the game and am about to move to Isla Sorna. In this time one thing I keep running up against is this silly Terrain Constraints warning/restriction when trying to place down objects. Now I have tried to use both the Flatten Tool and Smooth Tool and generally never get any success, and often times the area I've tried to fix becomes completely unbuildable, can't even place a power line on it. So what is the best way to resolve this? The maps are small enough in build area without losing more space to this Terrain issue.

Having trouble with terrain constraints too. I have a little area unused that would be perfect for a power plant to be built on. If anyone has a fix, let me know.

I'd say the best think to do is flatten the area before trying to place a building in the first place really. I'm sometimes getting the buildings 'sticking out a bit' (for which the smoothing helps disguise) but "placing a building" .. I can 't say I'm having any problem doing that (PC) even though it's apparently a big issue for some reviewers. The terrain might constrain where you put it 'a bit' but that's subsidence and building regs for you. Are people trying to leave no spaces at all between buildings or something?

The problem is Winterwalker that I'm finding and experiencing that sometimes using the Terrain Tools before even attempting to place a building, as a sort of preemptive method to try to counter this isssue seems to result in some weird issue where you can't ever build anything on that area ever afterwards.

Depends how much you're building and where. Definitely happens more near edge of map and building near other things, where you know it will fit, but the terrain says nah.

same problem here, the flatten and smooth tools are useless. Sometimes they even make hills and valleys. The Flatten tool should FLATTEN!!!
