"The thrill is for the krill, money is not important..." - Fishing in Elite Dangerous

In keeping with another topic posted today. I thought I'd add a lighthearted speculation thread.

I'll make it clear from the outset, just in case anyone gets confused. This thread is for ludicrous speculation only. All 'features' that are 'confirmed' on this thread will be highly unlikely to feature in the final game.

The rules are:

1. You must announce features as if they have already been decided on and will definitely be in the new game.

2. If people post believing this thread is true. You must refer them to the OP post (but you can do this subtly...:D).

So, let the fishing begin...:D

Personally I can't wait to see the under ice fishing farms on Merlin in the Ross 154 system. I'd rather do that than fly some dumb space ship around.

Fishing in World of Warcraft was always the most fulfilling part of the game.

I think the new fishing implemented in Elite Dangerous will be fun but I hope people are going to be sensible with it. Its alright installing one of the new fish scoops on the front of your sidewinder a few tonnes of fish here and there who is going to notice. But when that panther clipper comes along sucking 1000's of tonnes of jonty bass out of the oceans on planets is that really sustainable.

Also a little concerned about the new Farty Shytespeed Drive that runs on sprouts, beans, lentils and curry powder. This is going to lead to a race for pulses and beans and could lead curry powder to become the most important produce in the galaxy. Sure it will be nice to travel at speeds faster than 1500m/ps but is creating a new economy worth it. whole planets dedicated to the manufacture of sprouts.

All this aside. I am glad my Space Station 'Winnard's Hole' has been approved to be floating above Planet Mianus, in the Digestive System........

It was an amazing, life fulfilling experience.

One of the things I admire the most in ED is the realism. For example I look forward to the mandatory ship scrubbing in order to keep it in working condition. can you imagine the pleasure of picking up a scrubber and to do a careful and very time consuming cleaning of the ship?

And dont get me started with the manual emptying of the passengers quarters toilets! The realism! So fun!

For me, one of the most interesting decisions was the Spore integration. It's a perfect fit with the E:D universe that will populate planets with creatures.

I can't wait to land my Moray Starboat on a methane lake and bag me some dinner!

The implementation of a slurry moon in the Slough system is genius. I mean all that waste has to go somewhere. I just wonder what it's effects on tides will be on the planets surface..

Also great to see there will be Orange Sidewinders in the game, shame they will only be limited to the Lave system though. Maybe Frontier should think about letting us steal them and putting hyperdrives on them.....

I am absolutely appalled that the Cobra Mk III is open only to those who bought the starter pack. The cobra mk III is an iconic part of the game and should NOT be restricted to people who had the fortune to catch the game in development.

Even if I have access to one myself :)

well, personally i'd inquiry for a repeat, and slowmotion mode of ED, cause it looks so cute when the opponent explodes.... :D boom...rewind...boom...rewind...boom

this also ensures that you can grind explosions somehow :)

I thought that was already an option in the Offline mode of E: D?

Screw the snakes! I can't wait to see some glimpses of the fish! I honestly don't think people care enough for the Cobra, the Asp or the Viper. We all want to see the Carp, and the Goldfish, and my personal favourite, the Guppy :D

Well two things jump out at me.

Firstly there's the Star Wars tie in, awesome to see all those ships included. Secondly there's the news that the Stardreamer is back in. Very happy with that.

Don't much care for snakes either, but if I know FD and the Braben right there's going to be eels...lots of eels!
