The Titan Hadad Thread

Better safe than sorry. Took me six runs, no biggy. Ready for Meltdown Weekend, baby!

Btw: the SCO FSD worked liked a charm. Only one heatsink popped for the 40K-ish Ls run. I overshot the maelstrom by 5K Ls, though being my first SCO run, I consider it a success. :D

I started my bombing runs today, but I'm trying a new build which is taking some getting used to. Ran out of game time before getting the full amount, but should be able to assist more from Friday.

Nicely done. I prepped for Hadad today, carrier is now one system away. My Titan bomber has been reconfigured from it's spire setup, and is ready to go as well. I will get 2Mil dmg tomorrow.
I'm currently "off the boil" with Elite at the moment-in the middle of my 3rd full playthru of CP2077 and having a blast!
But likewise, have moved the FC nearer to Hadad and will try to squeeze in some bombing runs tomorrow to claim my decal etc.

Well that was rough-got 3.7m combat bond, theoretically enough but will do another run later tonight when I have more time.
Feels like they have retuned the Titan, it seemed far more aggressive. Quite happy to admit it might be a me issue, been playing other games for the past 2 weeks so might be rusty etc.

I got a few runs in so far today as well. Best single run was 3.1 Mil with 4 or 5 out of the 8 vents hit. Much easier to rack up damage today. Goid response is strong, but it will get much worse as the hearts go down. 1st heart is over 50% gone: https://citillara.fr/elite/titan/hadad , this is the link I use, it is slightly delayed from in game.

I expect Ha Dead will be done by sometime on Saturday, but that is just a guess on my part, it could go quicker or not

I did a run a few days back and it definitely felt different. I put it down to running a new ship, but stuff was happening that never used to, like Orthrus shutdown fields just as I'm lining up to bomb the core...

Just finish few runs, seem they changed something... core extract a bit sooner and stay open for more time, in past i need to hit 7 of 8 vents to unload full clip of 24 missiles, now pineapple seem to stay open for more time for vent hit, 6 vents seem enough to unload a full clip of 24 missiles and with 3x AX MR you gain an average 5 Mcr per run.

For the "aggressive" behavior, i see no difference, even done some zero damage runs, old rules are valid, fly cold, fly fast, be safe.

same Krait Mk2 build i used from taranis, leigong and oya... the feeling is they tuned in a more permissive way the "time on pineapple" windows for damage.

I have made enough runs to get about 20 Mil today. I am trying to get a run on each heart for the extra Arx. We shall see if I can manage that.

Anyway, on my last run, right after the thermal heat vent time was off, I boosted away twice, heading to the asteroids, and poof shutdown field... That is a first for me. I was outside the angry blue damage, but shutdown for 2 clops... and since I flew in a nice straight line, until I hit the roid, they shoot me up pretty good.

Has that happened to anyone else? I did not know the Thargoids used their normal shutfdown field after an attack run on the heat vent

My time to play will be limited until Saturday evening most likely, I assume it'll not all be over by that point?

I had that while assaulting the prior Titan, kept getting shut down after the thermal vent thing retracted. I thought I was somehow linked to that Taurus effect thing, however, I'd fled well into the asteroids so it wasn't that. When I was shut down, I was knocked around a lot before hand. Didn't experience this with prior Titans. I also seemed to attract Thargoids no matter how cold I remained, again, different to my prior encounters. Still, FDev seem to constantly be trying to fix various issues with these instances, so there's that at least. Hoping Hadad goes a little smoother for me than Oya.

One heart down. I spent an hour or so doing runs at the Titan, ended with 28M credits in bonds before returning to a nearby system to restock. Will return tomorrow for more missile-powered 'heart surgery' on Hadad.

Agreed, timing has changed a little bit for the better

Not sure if Hadad will still be alive by Saturday, if possible plan your attack runs sooner vs later. Good Luck and I hope you get to make a few runs before this one is over.

I switched from my Chief to a KMK2 for more damage on the heat vent. It has gotten a bit spicy once outside of the asteroids But totally still doable.

Hmm, might be tricky. Could give it a go tonight, but quite tired so it'd likely not go well. I might get a little time tomorrow. I did get in-game briefly this evening, so got my Titan Bomber located to a nearby station - it also has one of those new SCO FSDs as I understand the travel distance from Primary is a a bit further than with previous Titans. Not played much of late - other stuff going on - so feeling a bit rusty!

Yeah I was a bit rusty as well. Out of 12-15 runs I made this week (last two evenings) and then today, 2 or 3 runs resulted in no bonds for the attack run. Multiple reasons, all of them mine. For your first couple runs, try to get only 2, 3 or 4 vents, and then head to the heat pump, timing does appear slightly changed.

The SCO will save you time, although you can get interdicted whether you use SCO or not. For my KMK2 I boost in 2-3 second bursts, no longer, it really eats the fuel. Once the speed gets back to where it was before I used the Ludicrous speed drive (sco) I do it again. I do not go below 1/2 of my fuel tank, so if I get to half I stop using it.

Have fun!

sigh

I got in-game for a bit but it's being MASSIVELY buggy for me. I exited Super Cruise at the Titan site and started boosting towards the Titan. Started taking Caustic Damage, as expected, and jettisoned a Caustic Sink - except it didn't work. I've had this a few times where a Sink just won't deploy for the first time, my weapons WERE deployed, so it's not the deployment delay. So, I take a little damage I should not have, but deploy a Repair Limpet to patch me up. No problem.

I get closer, nothing near me, and suddenly my ship flips 180 degrees and I temporarily lose steering inputs, just for a couple of seconds. Ship isn't shut down or anything, I just cannot steer. Annoying. I turn back to face the Titan - based on the cloud not the HUD marker - and keep boosting. The glowing cloud of the Titan is in front of me. Then, suddenly, it VANISHES and it's like I'm exiting the area. WEIRD. I turn around again and head back to the cloud. Dunno what that was all about the Titan cloud literally just vanished in front of me.

Back on approach again, the Titan charges up its pulse thing. I counter - ample SYS capacitor - the wave hits me and my ships is knocked out. CTD. Great.

These Titan instances seem to swing between great fun and an utter broken mess, it's totally pot luck! The first Titan I approached - bearing in mind it was my first time - actually worked BETTER than this. Sure, the Heat Vane thing kept failing to deploy, but the approach went fine. I think FDev will have to do the "anyone in the area gets the reward" thing again at this rate. It's so darn frustrating!

Edit: I'm stubborn or a glutton for punishment lol. Anyway, after the CTD I went back in and things proceeded MUCH more smoothly. I approached the Titan cloud - it didn't vanish / me get teleported / whatever the hell happened last time - ejected Caustic Sinks as needed without that irksome delay issue and then countered the Thargoid Pulse exactly as before, but it worked this time. Go figure. I get closer, out of the Caustic area, and had to wait several minutes (cold) before the Vents opened. It seems now, despite being super cold and stealthy, moments before they open it's scripted that you'll be "seen" and all nearby Thargoids will make a bee line for you and the Titan will actually open fire too. That's new.

Anyway, I hit six of eight Vents before they close, then head underside (or is it top-side, depends on orientation when you arrive I guess lol) and get several good volleys of AX Missiles on the exposed Heat Core thing. Over 2m cr in Bonds. Job done. I flee well into the asteroid field and go cold to stealth it out for a bit, as is normal between runs. The Thargoid triggers its torus thing which propagates WELL into the asteroid field. I was near the outer edge of the field, moving away from the Titan, yet the Torus effect was in front of me. So, 100% confirmed the effect CAN and WILL travel MUCH further than it once did. Annoying, but I survived. Took more damage from that one event than anything else!

As it's late and I'm tired, I decided to head out of the system for the evening. However, on the way out, I got hit by an unannounced "push you away" wave thingy, which actually helped me clear the area a bit more quickly lol.

So, my second attempt went far more smoothly, but there was still some weirdness.

I could tell I was out of practice. I was circling the Titan looking for the vents for a long time before I realised I was on the wrong side <embarrassed grin>

Is it still just two million to earn a decal?

24 hours from when we dropped it's health to zero. The time will be in the GalMap. Tomorrow am go to the Galmap, click the Thargoid War Icon, then click Hadad and it should give you a time to watch the show. (it will go BOOM)
