PvP The trick to avoid Gankers (for newbies)

How to spot possible Gankers :
I want to share a trick for newbies to avoid gankers : When you are in Super Cruise in known places like engineers, power capital, founder world, CG... Scan Cmders and check on the left pannel "SUB TARGETS". Go at the end of the list and search for FSD Interdictor.

If they have a FSD Interdictor just switch mode as fast as possible as they can interdict you !

Good trick to know if Cmders are possibly here for PvP :)

That'll avoid you to combat log if they interdict you as combat log is considered cheating !

Of course you could go private / Solo but as Open is made for both PvE and PvP, this trick is good if you don't want PvP.

I hope it'll help some people avoiding to be ganked :)

How to avoid interdiction when to late :
Good point OP. In addition, any hollow square/triangle circling round behind you means they're out to be a pain in your tail-pipe!
Yea indeed and the trick to avoid being interdicted if you were unable to switch mode fast, is to always face your enemy !

When you interdict someone you have to be behind the base of the big triangle surrounding the ship you are after and wich indicate in wich direction it goes.

Therefore circle your opponent as well so he is never behind you !

Trick to win the interdiction :
It is my personal trick against NPC, therefore i don't know if it's working well against commanders, but it seems to me that slowing down your ship almost to a stop allows you to have an easier mini-game.

If you are almost loosing interdiction, don't fight it ! just stop your engine ! Otherwise if you loose interdiction and as yourspeed was high your ship is going to spin really hard before you can do anything !
You'll be in a very weak position !

Some people also don't try to fight the interdiction mini-game and put engine to a stop. Indeed loosing mini-game not only make you spinning at the end of it, but also give you a higher FSD cool down. Therefore you are an easier target.

What to do once interdicted ?
As soon you have been interdicted, set all PIP to ENG and boost while moving in all direction to avoid hits.

Go in the navigational panel and select any system and high wake as soon as your FSD has cool down !

Don't try to Super Cruise to nearest station in the current system as low wake is influenced of mass around and is slower to do than high wake.

Yea you can as well block all the known Gankers... I found some list on Reddit.

But frankly i blocked only one person and it was the same guys that ganked me twice. The second time was because i had to reinstall Elite Dangerous to apply an heavy update and it seems blocking list is only local... Therefore he came to destroy my ship while i wasn't inside, in my SRV at Dave's Hop abandonned mine... I wanted to meet people there too, but it seems that it was a bad idea...

Anyway i hope it'll help some newbies :)

Good advice for anybody really. Although it's worth keeping in mind that people roleplaying as security also carry interdictors.

I’d like to point out that commander interdictions are much harder to evade and that if you feel uneasy in a system, try to plot a route to another system in case of a gank, that way you don’t waste time selecting the system while escaping.

Blocking works.

The quintessential way to avoid griefers. Amen.

Block if its a griefer in a fully engineered ship who is seal clubbing. Otherwise just high wake or get engineered and kill the CMDR.

Whatever you do dont go private and stay there. We need every CMDR in open.

Oh and dont sign up to powerplay as thats a green light to be killed.
