Hello Explorers

It's been a while, i have to admit i fell out with ED over the past few weeks and found myself wandering aimlessly, even 10 jumps was a chore, let alone travelling the vastness of the Void.

That said my curiosity is still alive and i wanted to try and capture an image of the coal sack nebula, in doing so i found a truly dark side of a moon, perhaps as i have been living under a rock something has changed, but in all my planetary landings i have never found somewhere so dark, even on planets/moons in the same system were not THIS DARK

i don't even think my video does the view justice i implore you to go visit, System name etc in the video description or just pause it

Its not unique to tht planet i have seen one aswell. I called it the glide of terror. I made this epic journey up and down mountains following a scanner return. The journey way more rewarding that the wreck i found

go for it, im sure there are other dark planets out there, its just not the norm though and was a refreshing change

if you want to share location too i'd like to visit

Not sure if its quite as pitch black as yours but tis an epic journy told in 9 pictures

There are mountains in the darkness...

And it wasnt easy to land.

These pictures completely fail to capture the scale. I had to literally fly the buggy up one side and down the other.

Oh dear....

Time to call for a ride... it couldnt land.

And... feeling slightly disguntled at the lack of interesting exploration finds, burke continues onwards

Overall, very dark planets can be found close to the edge of the galaxy and inside blacl nebulas.
