The Type-7 Transporter [Elite Dangerous]

A good few ED ships have withered on the vine and could use a revisit by Fdev.

I got one of these a week ago, my plan was to explore the new trade mechanics around Empire space. Just trade and do Trade missions. Earn money and Materials.
Do it all in Open and see how long it takes for me to be pirated. (kind of an experiment to see how terrible or not terrible the so called Open gank issue is)

I don't expect great things from the Type 7, i could tell that when engineering it. But i kinda like the idea of it being a Space Truck and me hitting the midnight highway.

P.S enjoy your videos.

That's pretty much exactly how I felt when I picked it up. And agreed. A few ships need a refresh to acknowledge new mechanics.

For what it's worth, I did the same thing as you. Didn't get pinched nearly as much as I thought I would.

Glad you like my stuff. I'll keep it up.

I've spent months flying that brick around the galaxy. Lovely ship. It's so nimble and has amazing boost you can even do combat in it. Never even considered about installing a collection limpet controller. Great shields. Just overcharge everything, and hold your breath during overheat fumes.

The major feature of the T7 is that due to its agility in super cruise it is almost impossible to get interdicted in one by an NPC, its drawbacks are that it is just too large for medium pads and it doesn't have a medium hard point for CEM work.

I'm with you, I've been flying a shieldless Type-7 every night for the past week or two in Open and have not been ganked yet. Mind you I may not be in a high-traffic area. But I am in the bubble <100LY from Eravate area. So I'm not in the middle of nowehere. Space Truckin is fun, but I always have to be diligent of my scanner.

Excellent vid, it is my ship of choice not sure why that is exactly I just love it. I did put in a suggestion that they come out with a size 1 seismic charge but I don't think they will. I have made quite a bit of cr's with it and ranks in both Federation and Imperial. It's really weird to me cos I am a truck driver in the US OrionRisingSun.jpg that started out driving a truck so I could go see my country and get paid to do it- but I've been out here on the road for 15yrs now(Seen all 48 states in all four seasons) and now I hate my job! So why it is my fav ship - I have no idea.

Ive put class 1 Mine layers on the top and bottom Hard points, The plan is to run rather than fight and drop some presents as i go. (i dont expect this to be effective against a PvP pilot)

I avoided the two front hardpoints because my past experiance with Mine launchers showed that your own mines fired from a front hard point would collide with your own ship as you run and the T-7 Is a tall ship.

Have you tried this?

Yes I have both types of mines and nothing, could not seem to get them to run straight at me- they missed them. But with a 5A shield and four A boosters it can take a beating.

I have nothing but love for the T7. Folks would still appreciate it more if credits were harder to come by. It’s only becoming a fossil because the game is currently in arcade mode, that’s really not the T7’s fault...

When credits were an issue this ship shined. For passengers it competes pretty evenly with the Python and Beluga...

T7: 17mil. 3x6, 3x5
Python: 55mil. 3x6, 2x5
Beluga: 79mil. 4x6 2x5

...and jumps considerably further than either of them, so sightseeing tours are a solid option. And it’s easier to outfit, even a little 3A power plant can solve most of its heat issues.

But for sure....buff one of my favourite ships!!! 👍😊

These T7 threads are going to make me buy one again. It was one of my favorite ships while climbing the ship ladder in the early days.

I did what you are doing with the mines but I put them on my Beluga. It was a runner too. I never lost an interdiction in the Beluga and iirc, I didn't in my T7 way back then. I submitted twice in my Beluga to test the mine laying tactic and it worked wonderfully. I got two bounties and I got to hear the radio voice saying, " I didn't expect this, taking too much damage .. " or whatever they say when their ship is falling apart. I have not tried this yet but I will in the right situation ... I'm going to start a slow roll, and drop mines continuously ... I'll bet that's going to be fun for whoever is chasing me.
