The ultimate all-rounder?

Clearly not a PvP capable ship, as these are very specific builds, but that aside, this is my favourite do-it-all build.

Without changing anything, I can transport, run missions, take this for a Haz Res session without losing shields, not a bad jump range at all for light exploring (remember pre-Horizons? It’s better than an un-engineered AspX), scan planet surfaces, it has an SRV, I’m self-sufficient and can scoop fuel, I can farm materials, it has full pad access... What can’t it do?!!

Quick swap of internals and I’m at 4,600 armour with 2x shield cell banks (but don’t really need these for PvE anyway), or I can quickly put together a great mining vessel.

The reason I like it, no LOVE it, so much, is that I can fly anywhere within the bubble (and beyond) and do whatever I fancy doing, at any time.

Any suggestions for improvements?

Nice, but I would swap out the 3E cargo rack, for a 3A collector limpet. And yes the Python is my favorite ship all around.

A couple of limpets flirting around the ship would certainly save some time collecting mats when those pirates go boom!

Indeed it is- if you had a VR walkabout you'll see Pythons have a tofu dispenser like dropships have coffee machines.

*tofu machine may be imaginary- the last time I flew a Python I was so overwhelmed with meh I started hallucinating kitchen appliances

A few adjustments to lighten her up a bit (armour, power, sensors, scanners to "D"), wide angle sensors are amazing, wake scanner for gathering encoded mats.

I tend to use the high powered/armoured stuff like you have used only on my dedicated warships, and use these modifications for my all-purpose ones. Mainly to maximise, speed, functionality and jump range.

Python is good for power, so dropping a size normally works.

What do you think?

You ever tried to defend yourself in a fight with tofu? I have a couple of times. Not the most effective weapon but gives you an advantage nonetheless, if in shock value alone. Buys you precious time.

On topic your ship would be OK for light PvE but I'd steer clear of CZs and heavy combat- your shield is vulnerable to laser fire.

I might be missing something, but the speed has dramatically reduced, and the jump range is now less than 30LY?
