I think you'll like it. It's got great handling for its size and very versatile internals. It's also, IMO, the best-looking ship in the whole game.

The one drawback -- and the reason mine mostly stays docked for the moment -- is the lack of options for the huge hardpoints. But once FD gets around to releasing some C4 lasers, I'm going to be spending a ton of time in my Corvette.
