After all the recent bickering and criticising, I think it's only fair we voice our gratitude to the VR support ED has. We are all filled with it, and we know the devs do read these threads, so it is a worthwhile endeavour.
So I'll start by saying:
THANK YOU - for making a game that works so perfectly in VR. From the perfect FOV/depth, to the full motion tracking, to the UI integration (targeting, panel looking etc.), to the SDK optimisations (persistence, latency etc.)
THANK YOU - for still supporting it, still spending time and money on it, still trying to keep it up to date, to improve it, even though the VR community is a relatively small source of your income, and even though you are working with a developer's kit rather than a consumer product
THANK YOU - for giving us the Oculus Second Window feature, something that no other game has and lets me record/demonstrate/take off my headset
THANK YOU - for having an "Oculus - Headphones" setting that properly processes the directional audio
THANK YOU - for giving us so many settings to tweak to get the game just right for us, and giving us extras like the ability to change the HUD colours, apply post-fx, fiddle with game files etc.
THANK YOU - for putting up with our rants, impatience and lack of faith, and still remaining professional
THANK YOU - for letting your programmers occasionally come to our forum and talk to us about the technical details and answer our questions
THANK YOU - for communicating with us far more than any other game I've played. Even though your communication isn't perfect, it's still light years better than any other developer, and we do appreciate that. A weekly dev update from the top of the company who then answers our questions is basically unheard of. A full list of patch notes with every patch down to the last detail is just as rare.
THANK YOU - for fixing the problems that come up with VR very very quickly. Again, compared to other games I've played, things can break and remain broken for literally months.
So yeah, I know I can't stop people coming here and bringing criticisms, but I'll ask anyway - there are plenty of threads about what's wrong with the game so let's try to keep this one to only be about what's right about it. Not to sound spiritual, but gratitude makes the world go round...
