The Wandering Star is Back on the Road, passengers welcome!

Hi all!

No one will remember the Glorious Journey of the Wandering Star, but after all the delays, the conditions for departure are now met (UPD 11!) and we'll be resuming our voyage soon.

For the many who don't know, the expedition aims at flying along all arms of the Galaxy (seriously, all of them!) with the support of my carrier, the Wandering Star.

As a side target, we'll also stop by all DSSA carriers now deployed and pay our respects. Aside from that, it's all about exploration and finding nice stuff and looking for alien life out in the Black.

So, this is the fastidiously plotted route, look at how beautiful it is:)

All the "spikes" in the otherwise almost perfect spiral are detours to DSSA Carriers or, occasionally, POIs.

Whoa, what a keen explorer, how much of the trip has been completed as of now?

The journey started in June 2020, went to the end of Xibalba, then back through the bubble following the N-S axis of the map, then straight like an arrow to Sag A* and further to Beagle point, then clockwise along the Outer Arms and back to the Bubble, stopping by all DSSA carriers along the way.

Here's the road so far.

Also, here's the journal of the trip on Inara for those who bother reading this stuff:)

Why going back to it only now?

Right when I stopped by the Bubble to resupply, news broke about Space Legs being imminent.
So I decided to sit and wait for the update before I went on for the second leg of the trip.

I had been caught off guard once already. Horizons was released while I was 60k light years away from home and I didn't want to repeat that.
Anyway, Odyssey was delayed, and so was my departure.
Then it was released, and Exobiology was introduced. That's when I decided I had to upgrade my Artemis Suit - and why not, all the others - before I left. Which took, well, forever.

Once I had a top level Dominator Suit I decided that I might as well get Elite Mercenary out of the way before I left for months, which took some more time. Then Carrier interiors were announced, so I waited for that too, and here we are.

Whatever, who cares?

Probably no one, but last time a few commanders joined for the trip.
So if anyone wants to come along, you're welcome to hop on.
Departure is scheduled for Sunday 20th from Scylla, going South.
I'll take it veeeery easy, as I want to get into Exobiology too, so I'll take my sweet time.

For those who want to join: I'm not going to install a shipyard this time, as it takes space and no one really used it. BUT.
If you don't mind mining for Trit when we run out, and you KNOW you'll be active for it, and you want to bring along your mining ships and whatever else, we can talk about it.

I have some Tritium left in my DSSA Carrier, want some?

Yes please! DSSA carriers were crucial for the success of the first part of the journey. I know that most of you don't have any left over after your deployment. But any little bit helps!

In fact, I have to reiterate my thanks to all the DSSA commanders who have helped me along the way. You were all really nice to meet, and your help was invaluable.
But really, doing the math of fuel consumption, and planning stops, and trading Trit with those who had it was one of the best parts.

For those I haven't met yet: I'll come begging for Tritium soon:)

So well, if you want to join just PM me (or reply here, whatever).
It's probably not going to happen, but if there's enough people we might as well set up an expedition on EDSM and make it official:)

That's quite a trek! you may be interested in this:
That's the list of STAR deep space tritium depots, most of the carriers are DSSAs, about half of them is not.
They are usually topped up full and with open market (green), some of them have their market open upon request, gove a shout if you need anything :)

Thank you! I actually discovered it just yesterday. Three commanders along the way have already made their depots available. STAR (and the DSSA in general) are amazing. Probably the best spontaneous community initiative next to the Fuel Rats.
