The Water System

Before I start with the actual thread, I'll be asking a few questions about the Water System:
1. Can animals drown? (Cruel, yet Cool)
2. Can the Water Freeze when the Temperature goes to Freezing Point?
3. Can the Coolers/Heaters Freeze/Evaporate Water?
4. Speaking of Evaporation, Does the Water Level decrease when hot, or increase when raining?
5. Can you place water on Inclined Plains? (WATERFALLS)

So this is what I expect from the Water System (Not including the Topic of my Questions):
1. Hopefully the Animals tend to go more often to Water when its Hot.
2. The Animals have to leave mud Tracks when leaving Water.
3. A BIG HOPEFULLY, some Animals can and will dunk under water occasionally.
4. I know the Water can get dirty, I guess it removes the "Family Friendly" if Blood could pollute the Water.
5. If Grass Grows, Might as well have it Grow faster near water.

That's all I expect and want from the water system. I guess most of this thread Technically wasn't about the Water System...It just includes water.

Sure....Judge me😂🙂

I don’t think animals can drown. Most animals have a swimming animation and I don’t see how you could “force” an animal into water as you can’t add water when an animal is standing where you want to place it (even if it can swim).

I wondered about frozen water too, I didn’t see it in the streams but those are alpha so who knows. But I actually think it might not as the animals require the water to drink from.

Also didn’t see the level rise or fall but then again most people I saw didn’t let it rain for too long and also alpha footage. Though I don’t think it would add to my gameplay if the water does rise or fall. I would be happy without.

I think most people expect waterfall will be similar to planet coaster, where you use special effects to create a waterfall (in which case I wonder if special effects, like the lighting, has a electricity demand)

Well, you could always just add some drinking stations if your water source freezes. But....its Alpha so only the devs know.

If this is/will be a mechanism, it would add both a realistic feel and a challenge, because you will have to manage flooding and drought. Yet again....its Alpha.

Hopefully it won't be another "special effects" item, but if it will be, atleast we can still have waterfalls.

1. Can animals drown? (Cruel, yet Cool)

Most probably not.

2. Can the Water Freeze when the Temperature goes to Freezing Point?

Most probably not.

3. Can the Coolers/Heaters Freeze/Evaporate Water?

Most probably not.

4. Speaking of Evaporation, Does the Water Level decrease when hot, or increase when raining?

Most probably not.

5. Can you place water on Inclined Plains? (WATERFALLS)

Most probably not.

While above features sound okay. That to me sounds way to complicated to implement into this game, and my guess it will most likely slow down the performance.
It's probably some kind of interactive layer.

edit: Does water get dirty? I know Planco you could choose between 4 types: calm water, Rough water, standing water & dirty water.

Yes, it does and it’s one of the big improvements over PC. We’ll need the water purification system to prevent this.
It was changed due to the importance for exhibits with diving animals like hippopotamus and hence also features a nice volumetric effect.
