The way you evolve with your ship could be different

Hello there,

Let's do it fast and easy to read through those dozen millions of post.

In ED, if you want to be stronger, you can get a stronger ship.
The more the ships cost, the more they are big and powerful.

So, the evolution in ED (if you want to be tough in fighting) consists in getting a bigger ship that considerably reduce the maniability of the game and maybe the fun.
To make it simple, I have the feeling If we want to be good at fight, we have no different choice than strive to the purchasing of the Mr. Big Anaconda.

I'm dreaming of purchasing a small, fast and very maniable ship around 10 000 000 CR.
The only alternative to do not be an amiral vessel is to buy an ASP around 6 000 000 CR but even this one is not very handy.

But I admit we can't espace the following logic : the bigger the ship is, the more resistant it is.

I hope I have been clear enough,
Good luck out there,
CMDR Gens

Not really. A Viper in the right hands can be as deadly as an Asp and a lot harder to hit because it's fast and agile. It may not be as resistant but fully specc'd, it can still take a bit of punishment but is agile and fast enough to avoid most of it. With 2 medium and 2 light weapon slots, it can still deal a lot of damage too. The two utility slots allow you to mount defensive items such as chaff etc to throw off gimballed weapons and missiles.

Hello Tryst !

Sorry for the confusion I didn’t mean to open a debate on the ability of each ship to defeat others.
I’m just trying to suggest different piloting gameplay in the “end game range ships”.

Well I think there's a limit to what one ship of one size could do. Imagine if there was a 60-tonne fighting ship like the Viper, that had a price of 100 MCr. What would that ship bring, that wouldn't either make the Viper useless, or the ship itself useless?

At the same time I see the problem you are putting forward.
One way of solving this, which kind-of is in place already, is to make fighting in the most expensive ships financially unviable.
If we make NPC's really hard too, and escaping from fights harder than it is today, repurchase costs will also become a reason not to fly A-kitted large fighting ships.
