So...I am loving this game.
Just a few observations from my play over Christmas:
Why do the Wedding and Funeral Parties come up as USS'? Surely, any self-respecting Wedding Planner or Undertaker would not be skulking around space without proper Ship ID? I have lost count of how many times I have run across these two groups in open play. I am all for a bit of respect but coming across yet another Wedding Barge at a USS is beginning to sap my goodwill for the happy couples. And another thing...have you seen how drunkenly the six support ships fly? I followed one group for a while and they just kept on bumping into each other. Where are the Feds when you need them for a Don't Drink and Fly campaign?
On the topic of erratic flying...has some of the NPC flying reverted to Standard Beta times? I am getting bumped into, rammed and experiencing near-misses many times at the minute. I have some nice footage of a group of NPC Feds and Crims all bumping into each other.
I cannot help worry that the issue of stopping players losing bounties to NPCs has gone a bit wrong. I am definitely picking up bounties too easily, especially when it is me + others against a single NPC. In a few cases I am sure I was not the last player to land a hit and I still got the bounty. To me this needs a bit of a review to see if things have swung too far in the player's favour. I am stealing food from the mouths of the Fed's children at the minute by stealing their kill bounties.
Many of the USS' contain abandoned canisters of chemical waste, toxic waste, bio-waste or scrap. Now, in my game world some of these arise from ship's being blown up but others arise from the actions of ne'er do wells just dumping stuff in space - fly-tipping. Could the altruistic collection of waste for correct disposal become a reward mechanism? Space is big but still needs keeping tidy. Environmental issues matter in space, too.
Flying very happy in my little patch of space. I have my A-rated Sidewinder almost finished - just working to afford the Class A FSD. I love my Sidewinder. It is a truly fun ship to fly and is great for fighting. I still have my original, loaned F-rated pulse lasers. Does anyone know if you can get E-rated fixed pulse lasers or do I have to move up to Beam lasers now? There used to be some good specification spread sheets on the forum but I just cannot find them anymore.
I have only seen two real-life Cmdrs since 16 Dec as they flew across my sector. I think I am getting to the point of needing to make some human contact. I might fly in towards the populated zones soon.
Fly happy
