After watching a few interactions from several commanders as well as noting what the wreckage of Thargoid attacks leave I am wondering if they are breeding?
They collect meta alloys, and go for escape pods with people inside and it could be they are gathering resources to "procreate" or worse: building something.
I thought of possible reproduction after watching one die and noting the corrosive cloud they emit upon death. Many of the ships that have been destroyed look like they were only hit a few times and there seems to be corrosion still around the ships. Perhaps the Thargoids are taking what biologic and metallic/miscellaneous materials needed to make new Thargoid?
If that's the case we could be in for a nasty war by destroying Thargoids, though how they gather materials would still lead to a bad place.
A second thought is they're building something(s). That could be even more frightening as they've studied us for a while now. If they are building their own "anti- human" ships we'd be in for a serious race to escalate research. The tertiary thought would be they're building things to engage the guardians?
I could be way off and I'm still new to Elite Dangerous (played the original, though) and I dearly love the game and wish to thank the developers as well as you commanders who provide a greatly appreciated source of guidance and ideas.
