Theory- Thargoids Bases?

Humanity at current can't remain in space forever, we need to refuel, resupply and rest (I imagine?) we have many planetary bases and starports to suit our needs.

Unless these Thargoid ships can remain in space indefinitely, they must have somewhere to dock? or even some place of origin. Recently there has been word that they originate from ammonia based worlds. if this is the case, targeting from orbit isn't such a bad idea, if you read the description for Plasma Accelerators. they mention Orbital strikes with an Ear-splitting sound with PA's large enough. so we don't need to land on the planet to make a devastating impact.

remote bases on planets is also a possibility, we have already seen structures used for navigation on various planets. so militarised bases are not out of the question.


Is anyone Brave enough or got enough time to scout for anything like this? (if it even exists)

There has been speculation that the Thargoids are actually refueling over the top of barnacles, when you see them beaming down, and also that barnicles themselves are what grow into the base. Obsidian Ant shows a location where the barnicle farm is clearly in the spiral shape of a base, and scavengers [like in the bases] are already there too.

I think barnacles are a basic building block that, like stem cells, that can be grown into bases, ships, etc at will.

What mp4x said. There are those barnacles where they seem to refuel. We're not sure yet. And there are those bases which seem to be abandoned if you don't count drones. And now there is this gigantic barnacle site which grows in the typical Thargoid pattern, not unlike their ships and bases. I also wonder what's underground. That Thargoids come from ammonia worlds is lore from before Elite: Dangerous and as far as I know that has been confirmed to be still the case. Thargoid probes are found around ammonia worlds as well.
But as far as I know there haven't been found any active bases, motherships or even a different kind of Thargoid ship other than that old crashed one. But if they are a hive race, there have to be other types.
