There and back again Lupine's tale

Where/Why.
Setting out from Guan Zana heading for Sagittarius A* distance 25787.99LS.
Why, because it's there, fortune and glory. No not really just wanted to see what was out there.

Method:
Plotting 500LS to 1000LS steps. Close to Sagittarius A* (Arpox. 2500LS+) plotting was taking computer upwards of 12 minutes to complete route.

Averaging 1100ls and 44 system an hour.
Using this:

Which needs some work, but was unable to get the parts I wanted before inhabited worlds ran out. And forgot to fly the flag of the explore on my ship :(
I think the shield boosters seem to help with fuel scooping close and making it out before over heating.
Auto Field-Maintenance unit, I personally thought was not needed but glad I had it. Having returned with 27% hull integrity and 20%+ damage to many modules due to heat damage over the trip.

Resting/parking 100LS from any stellar object, seem to keep me out of trouble too.

My route out seems to have been close edge of the spiral arm, An unusual sight.

Learning all the time about what to look for I did not find any Black holes on my trip apart from Sagittarius A* and only 9 earth-likes. But did find an easy way to spot supermassive and giant stars from Galaxy map:

Specially enjoyed finding the little Nebula (see above), but was already discovered by another commander. Though how he missed the supermassive and giant stars is beyond me.

Here's a few approaches to systems,

Totals:
2180 systems visited.
31674265CR profit from selling data. Which I split between 2 different factions.

And I should be DEAD.
2500LS from Guan Zana on return FSD fly's me through the middle of a star, not close shave like above pictures. How the hell I survived and remained in supercruise I do not know.
This is where the heat damage comes from specially when you have 2 or 3 star close by.

I hope this information is useful to fellow explorers.

hi :) can you fill the template in on this thread ?

and welcome back alive :D

Saw your topic on my trip out, but did not make comprehensive notes on all the things I found as first real long trip. Wanted to inspire others to go and look, while avoiding some of the mistakes I made. Think my plotting/routing method was reckless.

Trip done in a hurry as wanted to be back for 1.3.

Sorry, next time I will keep better notes ;)

Congrats on making it back. Very similar profits and systems explored to my trip last month but you seem to have done the opposite route direction to me...

If this nebula CMDR was me then I was in a massive rush to get back for a ship discount and also my canopy was about 1 emergency drop from cracking like a eggshell :)

Q. How many detailed scans did you do (about) to get this sort of profit? or was it just fog horn and run tactics?

That's a nice little trip. I'm not sure if you are aware but if you switch to map mode you can filter by star type, which means you can see black hole/neutron star systems really easily and avoid dwarves if you want to. Map mode shows nebulae too, but... map mode doesn't show brightness/size (just spectral class) so super-massive stars don't stand out. The CMDR is question probably just didn't look in realistic mode too.

Looking at system map for interesting things for detailed surface scan, mainly earth like, water worlds and gas giants (Normally as they contact life).
I would say 1 in 10 systems I found something interesting and stopped for detailed scans. Most of that CR is for fog horn, detailed surface scan from star I came in by + first discovery.
Remember making a note of first discovery bonus for 1 Supermassive which was 28,000.

Main tactic used, jump in, use advance discovery scanner, detailed surface scan star I jump into (Which was close many times), check system map for interesting bodies, scoop and jump. If not scanning anything in system apart from star I came in by, then system to system 70s aprox.

Question with a question, how to check it was you? As unable to get Galaxy Map to go back to many of the systems by typing name into search. i.e. "OGAINKS JS-T E3-2599"

As for rushing (Mainly due to 1.3), if you were plotting blind and random 500 to 1000LS hoops then you where bloody unluckly there are 3 in close approximately.

Ah it was not me, I've not been round that area (yet).

OGAINKS SM-X C16-230 will find it

The actual nebula seems to have been badly labelled as Nebu or something, its not showing up on the map properly
