I am seeing a lot of people spreading this 30 dinosaurs rumour. I am here to tell you it's false, and I have A LOT of proof. So here we go.
The demo build had 30 dinosaurs, yes. Nick Rodgers has been quoted 3 time, yes, 3 separate times, saying to YouTubers that there are "over 30 in the final build". Wow, that should be conclusive enough, but it isn't. I've got plenty more.
The 30 dinosaurs in the demo build were listed in alphabetical order. From this alone, we know that the deluxe dinosaurs were NOT in the demo build, because if you order the dinosaurs we already know + the deluxe dinosaurs, there isn't room for them. Example; there are only 3 herbivores in the demo before Ceratosaurus. But we know Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus, Camarasaurus, and Archaeornithomimus are in the game. See? Impossible.
The 'research page' on the JW:E website is not the roster for the game either. By comparing the 26 hexes on the research site with the 30 dinosaurs in the demo build, they are different lists. How do we know? Well, for starters, there are two spaces between Ankylosaurus and Brachiosaurus in the research page, but in the demo build list in game, there has to be only one. Furthermore, Spinosaurus does not fit into the demo build list alphabetically, as there is only one carnivore slot before Triceratops and it is Metriacanthosaurus. The next carnivore slot is after Triceratops, and thus must start with T or onwards. Would they leave Spinosaurus out of the game? No. In fact, from data mining the research page, we have found a picture of Spinosaurus, proving it's in the game.
So clearly the research page and demo build had at least a few different dinosaurs in them. Combine this with Nick Rodger's quotes, and it is VERY obvious there are more than 30 dinosaurs. Not only that; the demo build did not include the deluxe dinosaurs, as mentioned earlier, so at the VERY least, we have 35 total. If you listen to the German PC Games article, it appears we will get around 40, although this is not official.
Also I want to say, this bogus about the deluxe edition 'unlocking the dinosaurs earlier' is also completely untrue. The website says "additional dinosaurs". On steam, it says "Extra dinosaurs". It doesn't say "earlier unlocked dinosaurs". The dinosaurs are ADDITIONAL. They are NOT in the base game. Saying the deluxe edition unlocks them earlier is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. There is not the slightest bit of proof for it.
Stop spreading false information. You are disappointing people, when it's not even true.
