General / Off-Topic There are watch enthusiasts here somewhere...

I woke up today with a thought solid as a diamond - I'm going to buy a watch. I've not worn a watch for many years, in fact since late teens. For quite a while now I was marinating this idea in my head :) I have some basic knowledge about watches, and armed with a list of solid trusted brands I went to the store. What do you think of my rookie choice? Timex Waterbury Chronograph(actually took me 45 minutes to figure out how the chronograph works).
Come on, I know somebody here should have some interesting pieces. Don't be shy, show us your Swiss bliss :D

Warning. Pic is bigger than I've expected.

I have a dress watch that I wear with my business clothes (nothing fancy, just stainless and medium sized... Bulova I think?), and a $20 plastic Ironman watch I wear when I exercise.

Otherwise you won't find me with one.

I got a couple.

For casual I wear a Casio F-91W. Classic, timeless. <boom boom>

For posh I have a Tissot T-Touch. I got at as a wedding present (and it's Titanium because I have a Ti wedding ring and a lot of Ti in my rebuilt wrist bones), but in all honesty I wish I had chosen another as the "touch screen" stuff is not covered by the warranty and is a bit broken. Yeah I can get it fixed but it's a hassle (and I can't be , I don't wear it very often, and it still "works")

The dream is a Breitling. Sure, people go one about Rolexes and so on, but I've always found them a bit naff. Plus a lot of people with them are knobs. #justsaying

I like your new Timex, it has a really clear face and being black goes with most clothes.

Those classic digital Casios...there's something about them. They were the cool thing when I was a kid, and they somehow still cool now. In a slightly nerdy way perhaps? You've got to admire their durability and absolutely bulletproof design.

I don't wear one normally, but I use cheap, small (womens?) Casios for surfing etc.
There's an Omega that sits in a drawer around here somewhere.
Kind of like the looks of some of those single hand, 24hr watches.

Unsurprisingly, my watch has a unicorn in the face.

Nothing fancy, it was like, fifteen quid? Nice artwork though.

Never understood why people pay hundreds for a watch.

I love watches, but will not spend big bucks on them. I wear one almost always.

2 swatches (one great timepiece, one so-so), 1 movado (keeps great time, battery lasts too), 1 seiko titanium (eats batteries so have given up on it).

I am hardly an enthusiast, but I do wear watches.
They're cool. And rare, but who has the time to fish for a cell phone every now and then.

There was a thread called "Show us your watch" or something like that created by T.j, not that long ago.
