There really needs to be a confirmation for abandoning contracts.

I just accidentally misclicked "abandon" instead of "back" on a contract that I was about to complete and just wanted to briefly look at to check the system, and now instead of a job i have a 4k fine. It'd be nice to have at least a QoL option for an additional confirmation.

I totally agree.

I was transporting some cargo for a particular faction. Upon investigating a USS I encountered an NPC who encouraged me to dump my cargo and join a rival faction to which I agreed. But upon accepting the contract to go visit their home system to collect my reward incentive I later discarded it by accident and was left out of pocket and a hold full of stolen cargo.

Yep, or at least option for such confirmation (some games for example have option to confirm stuff sales to vendors, which can be turned off if the confirmation dialogs start to pester you).

Agreed. I abandoned a mission at least once accidently and I keep nearly doing it still. Something about where the button is placed or something.

I disagree, I don't want to have to confirm 'any' action I take (I am one of those who shift+delete files).

If that's really an issue for you I would prefer to e.g. have a move to the side to abandon the mission instead of down (which is the way of toggling throuh the missions).

That should reduce accidential abandoning, without adding more and more

- "Really?"
- Yes
- "Don't you want to think about it again?"
- NOOOO!!!!

Did this myself last night, after having acquired everything to complete the mission and upon arrival in the destination system I opened the menu to double check the station I needed to dock at and BAM mission accidently abandoned the mission... sigh.
