There's a problem with the empires management

For 3 weeks I was stuck on master rank, grinding away at missions

Kill some pirates here

Deliver some weapons there

Hunt down elite Anacondas

FINALLY a mission for naval progression, ok kill some pirates GREAT

Straight away at the same station upon my return RANK PROGRESSION

Im on a role now

Few hours later I'm sitting at KNIGHT and find another mission for progression FREE some slaves, but wait there's also two missions at the station, another free some slaves and one to bring in more slaves Both for the same company

So let's get this straight:

step 1: bring slaves to station, mission 1 completed

step 2: send those slaves back to slavery, mission 2 complete

step 3: free some slaves.......

And to my surprise finally A navel progression to BARON

OMG what awesome mission will I be undertaking?

Kill some pirates? Fight in a conflict zone for them? Maybe fight another elite anaconda

WAIT it's even better!

Deliver 2 Algae to the station

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Who is running the empire?

I was a lord NOT your delivery boy

I quit the empire ( after I buy my clipper of course)

I gained my ranks, all the way to Earl, when fighting in the Jera Civil War. Spent most of my time destroying Jera's Police force and clean, peaceful traders.

I figured that I was being sent on these worthless missions to try to keep me out of way before I created a huge diplomatic headache for the Empire.

It is rather unfortunate that right now the naval progression missions are just the same 4 regular missions repeated a couple of times.

Hopefully FD will give us a proper mission structure one day and will allow us to reset our ranks so that we can experience it.

Those two tonnes of Algae were the lunch for the local senator's S'hubrbhr beast. Feeding such an exquisite being is a great honor! How could you turn that down?

I personally hope they hire one of the bestselling, but usually humble/friendly, Swedish crime novelists to write some story line to this! There are a few BASIC items gamers expect from their games in the 21st century (side scrollers went out with the 80s), and that is a STORY LINE!

Not a side story line, but an actual interactive one, and the faction progression just SCREAMS for it  :D

By the way, you're pretty funny, as was the OP.

If anyone for FD are reading this, could we please have the above quote added to the correct mission statement for Imperial Naval Progression.

Do you know what my promotion mission to Viscount was?

"Deliver this message to the starport next door because we can't be bothered to use the spacephone"

I guess they figured they don't need to test my loyalty at this stage.

And it's working precisely as designed.

You did not have a high enough security clearance to know this. But the mission will soon be changed so I am authorized to divulge this tidbit;

There is something hidden within the two containers of innocent algae "cargo" you have been entrusted to deliver, suffice to say it is of utmost importance to the Empire. But that is only a secondary objective.

The real mission is a test of a candidate's patience, humility, and grace. A mission engineered by the Empire to weed out those undeserving of attaining higher rank. The Empire seeks only the best of the best. Take your Clipper and be gone, you are obviously not worthy.

Ave Imperator!
