Just a tip for this, and other similar, mission -
You don't HAVE to travel to that system to get it. You can pick up Rebel Transmissions (as well as Black Boxes, Alien Artifacts etc) in USS's anywhere. Just keep a few handy for these missions to pop up and you can turn it in immediately
Of course, just be aware they're all marked as "stolen" cargo...

Yeah I noticed that as well.
Not sure if this is a bug or working as intended? After all, why would they ask for a black box from a SPECIFIC place with SPECIFIC information and yet be willing to take any black box you find out in space. It sounds broken to me?
