They need to give whoever wrote the codexs' job to someone that can ACTUALLY provide USEFUL information

While doing the miner engineer annoyance I decided to check out the subsurface missile route and picked a couple up, checked the codex, SEEMED simple enough, except for when I went to try and do it the missiles just exploded uselessly, seems I don't have what I need to locate sub surface nodes? Yet there is NO INFORMATION ANYWHERE in the mining tab as to HOW you go about doing this. How does a sheer lack of necessary information just NOT get into any of this.

Guess they prefer their playerbase get true information from youtube instead of themselves, so damn stupid.

That should be in the Pilot's Handbook, not the Codex. Don't know if that's actually in there though.

They give you a clue.. elite it's a mystery game... you are trapped in an infinite expanse of space and time and you must find the clues to help you get out.. its actually not in the game its the power button on my PC.... have fun youtubing and many thanks to the geniuses who made the videos for without them and this forum we would all be in the dark expanse of space just floating around scratching our heads. I owe so much to a lot of people who have helped me progress in the game.

O7 over and out.. Count paxton newt

I think there's a tutorial about this in the start menu, if you're still interested.

I agree that in general the codex is very vague about .. everything. The C&P section is the same - when people complain about C&P it would be nice to point them at in in-game resource to explain things, but it has large gaps. It really just indicates 'there is something in this area you should investigate more - good luck!'

I have definitely found that elite is a game with which the community is a critical piece. I agree that often I dont get enough info from in-game sources, often where I think it should be. But by utilizing the community my in-game experience has really benefitted.

Getting guidance from the forums makes the universe feel full of people, even though I rarely interact with cmdrs in game (I'm usually on the edges).

It's almost like a message board and other community stuff, like Canonn Research aught to be available on your station galnet page , what with them being so integral to the game experience.

I actually loved the codex knowledge base. Perfect for listening to while exploring or mining. Just wish there was more!

It does, but, in the case of the c&p, I had 'legal issues' on the modules on my mamba when I switched back to it to do the mining for the engi, there is literally NOTHING about that in the game anywhere, I had to google it and even then, there is barely anything on it, only thing I had to go on was to go to a low security system and go to a station to get rid of it.

In the real world when you get a ticket you can at least get the information on what you're supposed to do to handle it with no real trouble, but in elite? Nope, seems ingame information is too difficult.
