They wouldn't ... would they?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
If you thought the Gnosis was a fiasco.... lol.

I can't see FD doing that. :D

It would be interesting to see how many of those who demanded harder and non-optional Thargoids would erupt in a salt tsunami.

An Alien apocalypse is only fun if it happens to others.

Edit: FDev learned from the cerberus plague. Anybody remembering that the quarantined starports where truly shutdown, as in no access to anything including the shipyard to retrieve stored ships? Yea, never going to happen again.

Okay 3.3 is about to drop and a lot of Commanders have stated they are pre-positioning modules and themselves at Jameson Memorial so everything will be in place and as soon as they can they can buy the new ships (and yes I am one of them lol).

But remember the Gnosis fiasco? Can you imagine the outrage if when we finally get to log on after the update we find that Jameson Memorial has been attacked by Thargoids and we have to repair it before we can use the shipyard and outfitting.

The evil part of me kinds of wishes this would happen, the sensible part shudders at the thought (and the resulting forum meltdown :D)

I have all of my Antithargoid stuff there, if they really want to go for round 2 Im game

I don't think the Thargoids got the permit for it ;).
Similarly, the engineers won't be closed down, even if their system will be attacked (or immediately replaced by a clone, family member or student). The starter ports will not be touched (or only if the starting place is moved) to not scare away new players.
Not everyone reached the same point in the storyline yet: The old Guardian decoding missions still exist (even with reduced payout), no persistent ship wreck was completely salvaged yet, etc...

The galaxy is just too vast to remove content, even if that would make sense after an attack.

I thought at least one of the crashed condas (pleiades jc-u b3-2) was confirmed gone...

That is possible, I haven't checked every instance and extrapolated from what I have noticed until now.

I assume you are refering to one of the Anacondas that was found before the reveal of the Thargoids? Has someone made a bug report or is there more to read about it?

Yes, it was found before the return, it was a crashed anaconda next to an early (second found, after galnet article?) Barnacle. I think it only disappeared this year, possibly around 3.2 release.

I don't know about bug reports, I've only read about it in other threads.

I doubt that would happen. But also anyone parking at Jameson Memorial for a new ship instead of prepping to check Li Yong Rui systems instead is just wasting money. A few extra mins searching the usual places to get ships in LYR space for a bigger discount is better than the more expensive Jameson, plus cheaper insurance as a result (seriously I can only imagine that Alpha / kickstarter backers with their 98% and 99% insurance benefit ontop of LYR discount plus the extra discount for having an Elite rank must be ridiculous cheap rebuys even for the most expensive big three with all the most expensive parts).

Jameson is nice until you realize it isn't =P

That said I doubt even if a full invasion happened that anything would happen to Shinrata, it's Founders / backers system so even if EVERY surrounding system was in Thargoid control, it would be safe otherwise backers / Elite players would be riled up as hell.

DW2 starts soon...good opportunity to get an exploration elite rank... or at least good progress along the way.

That's what road to riches is for lol.

Unlikely I think, more danger from other commanders if your in open at Jamieson :p
That said It would be convenient for me as I normally have to ship my anti-thargoid kit from Jamieson to wherever the Thargoids are "this" week - be handy if they lined up outside for me to zap :)

I'll let that act to others to be those 'commanders' target. In my last two Open attacked by them, with no cargo, neither weapons on my ships. They showed how tough they're with pack hounds, so it was enough pleasure to them. Still don't understand their points why so good this, but thankfully there are options to be safe from them. It was nice few months in Open, but time to back to PG.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. I've been saying, for years now, that FD will destroy Earth .. saves them hand crafting it (and the moon ) come ATMOS :)

i think you have missed the plot point where earth's population was already reduced down... at least thats what i remember.
