They've "fixed" insta-station-leaving

No longer if you "Launch", Exit to Menu, and come back in, are you outside the station. Instead it quite cleverly puts you back in the station :)

I hope it moves you somewhere safe. One legitimate use of the old mechanic was to free your shipi if you managed to wedge your ship behind a pillar.

Like you would legitimately want to wedge your ship behind a pillar. Is there no law about flying and using your mobile phone any more?

It's been a while since I tried to see just where I could fly my ship inside parts of a station, so I haven't been stuck for a while. But players regularly complain about being blown up while stuck in the toastrack.

It's possible on ships like the Type-9 to get stuck in the toast rack without enough pitch or roll authority to get yourself unstuck. Remember the station is spinning and you have to outrun it.

It puts you back on the pad, down under... Even if you've previous at least launched off the pad...

Can you do it in reverse now..? Ask for docking permission and quit inside station before you land on a pad.

Not tried that, but I suspect not... I bet it puts you X kilometers away from the station...

This will be fantastic for every time (often) I've taken off and forgotten to cash bounties in or some other random thing like replace the toilet roll stock etc.

Was this heavily abused? I mean, taking off isn't that hard, is it? I take off and land the Cutter no issues at all... No docking computers. This stuff is mindless after the 2nd day.

There was a post a quite a while back, a fair few people saying undocking was a pointless time sink ;) Much better to log off and appear outside the station. I know some smugglers used to do it to avoid station security scans

There are needless arbitrary things in this game. Taking off and landing your ship in a spaceship sim are not those things.

I made trade elite solely on Robigo. If you can't leave the station without getting scanned, you either need to find another profession, or a faster ship. Security is clueless. 2 presses of the boost button is all you ever need.

I'm just in shock that this is something actually addressed in this update. Though, it was probably an easy fix, so I'm glad it's fixed. I hope they fixed the getting stuck thing though, as that is the only valid use of it I can think of.

Seriously. I'm lazy, but this is a level of lazy beyond my comprehension.

For some of the playerbase, most of the actual operation of the ship is interfering with their gameplay. Which, since the game is primarily based around ship operation, always makes me wonder what sort of gameplay they are experiencing.

I'm a supporter of some quality of life changes in this game. Stuff like a floor on jump range. A minimum of 15ly or so. I can get behind stuff like that.

Taking off and landing? No...

I guess I'm just in amazement that they saw it as a big enough problem to address.

So you smuggled for a week then ;)

Took a lot longer than that. After you factor in travel time and actually filling your cargo, the money isn't that fast. It gets boring, too. It just never gets more boring than A to B trading lol.
