So I'm a relatively new player. I got started with big help from a friend and I now have a few ships. I use a Type-6 to mine and it's a welcome break from the frantic action of space combat. However, I'm having one major huge and inexcusable problem. When I get robbed by NPC's, I get it, that's cool and fun. The issue is how discrete their demands are. I got scanned and fired on before I even read the message "Give me the osmium you have 15 seconds". A small QoL change would be to put a prompt to the pilot "Soandso demands the cargo: "Comply" or "Refuse" 'You have X seconds'." This is the second time I've been scanned and accosted, the first time it seemed like I had about 4 seconds between reading the demand and cargo jettison. That time the guy only took 60% of my ship. This time I got scanned and by the time I was taking fire I realized it was not authority vessel but a pirate.
It's very frustrating that the message is so discrete. It's not fair to players. Can I just go to an NPC give them 15 seconds and then open fire? No, I can, but I can't rob them and all I get is a bounty unless they're wanted. Fix this please? Either make it more feasible to respond to a pirates demands or remove the feature completely.
