Let me start by saying Elite is the game I have played most in 2015. I've also spent a lot of time on this forum in-between gaming and read the suggestions people have for improvement. Some of the suggestions are very good.
I realise by now that Elite means many things to different people. We all have different expectations and desires for future content.
I haven't explored all aspects of the game yet (factions for example), I've mainly focused on missions, combat and some exploring.
I'm playing Elite more as a flight sim fan so I appreciate Braben's attention to engineering/technical details. Horizons S1 focuses on planet landings and SRV mechanics which actually suits me very well.
I'd like to see active geology at some point. Volcanoes, ice jets, perhaps rock or ice landslides (would be exciting especially if flying low through ice or rock canyons).
Would be nice to see black holes and perhaps be able to jump through them with a special module purchased at star port. Perhaps black holes could take people to a random location far away.
Planets with atmosphere and extreme weather. Planets hostile to the ship and SRV where you can only stay for a certain period of time before damage occurs? High wind, sandstorms, snowstorms etc.
Cockpit HUD UI/System star map would be nice to see a list of recent jump destinations and be able to select from them quickly.
Ground bases could have fighter protection rather than just drones. I'm remember the gameplay of Carrier Command where you had to take an island knocking out fighter and ground based defenses.
Would be nice to see ground bases with missile defenses too so I'd have the challenge of avoiding SAMS.
I love what I've experienced so far in Elite/Horizons and look forward to future releases. Also impressed with the transition to latest Oculus runtime via SteamVR.
