Community Event / Creation Things that happen in fiction but not in game

Once or twice in the DDF someone has said something like, "if you can't die in the game, won't that make the official fiction rather dull?"

Of course, just because it doesn't happen in the game to players, doesn't mean it can't happen. In Dungeons & Dragons there is the notion that player characters are favoured by the gods; perhaps they are just that little bit luckier than normal people.

A specific example from a post I just made on the DDF:

---
I suggested elsewhere that the reason you can't hyperspace in-system is that the destination point can not be known with any accuracy. You arrive *somewhere in the system*. That's it.

So of course you can emerge in the centre of a star. It's vanishingly unlikely and in fact never happens to player characters because they are just that bit luckier than NPCs, but it can be the stuff of legend (and official fiction). It would look pretty spectacular from the point of origin, too: star stuff shooting out of a rift in space.
---

I like the idea of legendary events from fiction being kind-of-possible in game; perhaps showing up in news reports having happened to randomly named NPCs.
