I've been having a blast with ED since release, and kudos to the devs on a game that I can only describe as EvE meets X3! Both of my favorite games!
However, recently, as I've gotten into a bigger ship, and got some standings up, I've noticed some really annoying stuff.
1) If you are at a 'green' status with a faction, and are hunting in a resource extraction site or similar. Sometimes another 'green' ship will have a bounty on it (Talking upwards of 25k!) Of course, if it's got a bounty, and Federation defence forces are shooting it, you'd figure it's fair game. Right?
Yes and no. Yes you can shoot and kill it without penalty, but, doing so will bring other Green faction members into a Hostile state to you. This is annoying, especially since the Fed NPC ships are shooting that target as a hostile, but the moment you fire a shot, they turn hostile to you, without a bounty being placed on you. It seems like a wierd mechanic, considering they are shooting you for doing nothing wrong, and they get no bounty placed (Fed Ships only, other 'greens that turned red' will have a 200cr bounty)
This needs to be fixed. It's a bit of an annoyance at higher ship sizes, but a personal killer when flying anything Eagle or smaller, since you usually will have trouble getting out alive in those ships.
2) Docking computer! This one has me in a bit of tears, for becoming somewhat useless as you get bigger ships. On an Eagle, it works fine. Sidewinder too. But once I got it in the Viper, I had nothing but trouble.
The problem? Ship goes to dock, goes into the station (Haven't tested it on platforms), and right before landing, the ships SMACKS into the landing pad, causing it to bounce to the left (And always the left), and then just get stuck in the landing zone, without having landed.
I use the docking computer to pretty much land safely, and not have a hassle of rushing a landing when I need to step away for a few minutes. This pretty much nullifies the landing computer on the Viper. This doesn't always happen, but about 80% of the time.
Anyone is welcome to discuss and add to this! Tell us the little bugs you've found that just irritate you!
