Hello Internet people!
I have been a member of the Elite community for 1.5 years now, beta backer here. When I first started out I was overwhelmed with everything, I sucked at combat, exploration required cash and trading was tedious. 4 tons of cargo at a time, 1200 credits/t profit. Got bored of that, started playing this year February again and reset my progress.
I kept an eye on these forums, most of the posts in this section were complains that NPC's just do the barrelroll of death acceptance. And the occasional "Horizons doesn't have enough content" thread. The amount of people that actually had issues with the gameplay were a minority. 2.0/1.5 seemed to be a relatively "smooth" update.
Now, looking at this forum section after the 2.1 and all hell breaks loose. I really appreciate all the UI rework (Even tho outfitting requires almost 3x more clicking now) and the graphical overhaul is glorious.
The real issues are within the gameplay this time. I know it is impossible to cater to every playergroup but some things are just a bit overkill. Check this image:
Now from my point of view the following things have to be at least checked for bugs, maybe clarify if some of these mechanics are bugged or work as intended.
I know that's a lot to read, but not even close to complete. I am only a combat pilot with the occasional smuggling run or exploration, so I cant talk much about those topics.
Some of these things may have been brought up by other people before, the amount of posts are really hard to read. Bad grammar or just plain bad formatting makes this especially frustrating.
So if you could post maybe your issues with the game in a format like I did or maybe something even better, FDev has an easier time figuring out what the community thinks or what issues might still need attention.
Also, some eyecandy for hanging in there and reading all this:
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

Now from my point of view the following things have to be at least checked for bugs, maybe clarify if some of these mechanics are bugged or work as intended.
- Ground Assault Scans for Data points are unreliable. Some people have received specific data from points, others have scanned over 20 outposts (which don't respawn their data) and haven't found the thing they were looking for. Maybe more ways to retrieve this data? Scanning turrets or skimmers?
- Difficulty seems inconsistent. I did some testing on USS spawned Trade convoys (1x Type 9 and 2x Conda with threat level 3 and combat rank master) Standing completely still and assaulting from the front for consistency. The Ships seem to spawn with similar loadout every time (PA/Multicannons/Frag cannons/Burst Lasers). Some tries didn't even pop my shields, some tries left me with 22% hull and major malfuntions in most subsystems. Never died, but from same difficulty enemies I would expect similar behaviour. Pip management and Shield cell usage varied but shouldn't affect the outcome this much.
- Item storage in stations has to be a thing.Like really, now. I would trade my roommates left arm for Item storage. I can't fit all the crap I need for 17 rerolls in my eagle.
- Ingame tutorials for basic game mechanics. I had to consult reddit and my friendly ALD Discord group for help on how to scan and drive with my SRV.
- Interdictions are in their current state the most evil thing known to mankind. As soon as my limpets pick up some random item (market value 1200 Credits) I get interdicted for my precious cargo. Also frequency of interdictions may still need some tweaking, seems a bit overkill currently.
- FDS/FGS/FAS are facehuggers and need to stop attaching themselves to my ship.
- Police presence in HAZ Res is uncool and needs to go back home. Had multiple occasions where system security outnumbered the normal ships 3/1
- Some NPCs appear invisible to one client, but are visible to others. NPC can still attack the person that can't see them. Multiple occasions.
- NPC wing indicator is a liar. One player sees a wing of 2, the other one sees a wing of 5. Higher number is always correct. Pain.
- Powerplay is a mess. PP NPCs even from the same major faction(Superpower) still hunt players down for no apparent reason.AND they don't receive a bounty for attacking you, but you do if you shoot back.
- My 32 ton Limpet controller can't tell my limpets not to pick up commodities? Future computers suck. They also smack into asteroids and wrecks and just die.
- Missions with the goal to reduce a problem (outbreak/Civil unrest) Increase said problem sometimes.
